Joelle and her very friendly helping hand (Rakra?) run a very nice riad in the medina. Joelle cares for her guests a lot and creates a familar setting. The riad is clean and has a lovely stile. Don't hesitate walking through the dark and winding alley - for european eyes, they looking intimidating, but it is perfectly safe and kind of normal in Marrakech.
 It was largely quiet at night despite its closeness to Djemma el fna (Central square, 7 mins walking). The rooms are fine but european folks might miss a bathroom door - obviousely not common in Marroc. Joelle speaks a bit of english, a few french words are very helpful!

Nice and quiet riad in the medina

This was our second visit to this lovely quiet Riad just on the edge of the Medina.  Joelle the owner is a wonderfully helpful hostess.  She will arrange a taxi to meet you at the airport and a barrow boy to take your cases from the taxi along the alley ways to her Riad, where you are welcomed with mint tea.  All the rooms have their own style, Moroccan themed of course and shower rooms!  We were there over New Year and although the days were beautifully warm and sunny the evenings and nights were cold but our room was lovely and warm.  The breakfasts we throughly enjoyed, fresh orange juice, lovely creamy yogurt, fresh fruit, crossiants, bread and traditional Moroccan flat bread with jams, mint tea and coffee, the perfect way to start your day.  And after a hard day of walking around the Souk there is a wonderful sun deck in which to relax with your book and have a little siesta.

Wonderful Riad in the Medina

I was there with a group of friends and we all found it fantastic. It's in the Medina, vibrant hart of the Medina Unesco World Heritage.
Clean, delicious breakfast and a spectacular view from the terrace.
Joelle is a perfect Host. I definitely reccomend to stay here when visiting Marrakech.

Relax and quiet in the Medina

We had a fantastic time at the Riad Kalila. Joelle made as feel very welcome from the first minute on and even showed us around the medina so we could find our way back easily, she made sure our stay would be a great one, organising cabs, making sure we got safely from the airport and to the airport safely. the riad is in a residential area and a five minutes’ walk to the Djemma El Fina.
After a day in buzzing Marrakech it felt like coming back to an oasis to our lovely rooms and the terraces. You have great views from the terraces and on the upper terrace you can even see the Atlas Mountains!!
It was the most relaxing stay in a hotel ever! Rabia, Joelle’s housemaid was a real angel, she brought us coffee in the morning to wake up and once we were all ready we had a lovely breakfast. No run for breakfast.
Can only highly recommend Joelle’s Riad and would not go anywhere else when coming to Marrakech.

Oasis in Marrakech

Joelle, the owner of this small riad made us very welcome - we just wished that we could have spoken better French!  The house is full of small, thoughtful touches that combine traditional Moroccan domestic architecture with French sensibility.  Although apparently tucked away, by Marrakech standards it is by easily accessible from both Bab Laksour and the souks.  We found it quiet and clean; breakfast on the terrace was pleasant and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a more intimate riad  - especially if they spoke better French than us!
