Riad Maïalou

Our group of three women spent three nights at the Riad Maialou in Marrakech and had a delightful experience. We stayed in the rooftop Berber tent and enjoyed the unique accommodation. The breakfast of coffee, fresh orange juice, yoghurt, assorted breads and cakes, and a freshly cooked omelette was delicious. We opted to have dinner at the riad two evenings and enjoyed a chicken tajine the first night and kofta tajine the second night. The dinners included salad, vegetables, bread and dessert; we were impressed by the flavours and freshness of the homestyle meals. Rashid spoke English and was the perfect host, ensuring our group had everything we needed. The riad arranged transportation to and from the airport and upon our arrival at 1:00 am, Rashid met us at the taxi stop to walk us through the souk to the riad. He arranged an English-speaking guide for a walking tour on our first morning, served mint tea with a perfect long pour, and answered all our questions. Rashid recommended we try the traditional Hamman and massage service and we are so thankful we did. The girls who provided these services were very professional and lovely and we felt completely pampered. The location was excellent and it didn't take long to figure out the alleys of the souk. By day two, we were giving tourists directions! Rashid and the staff at the Riad Mialou ensured we had the perfect holiday in Marrakech. I recommend this riad to family and friends and if/when I return to Marrakech, I will stay at Riad Maialou again.
