Holiday Home Kelaa

We spent with a family 8 nights at HHK. We booked a family room, these are actually two units connected. Great location, a minute walk from the beach, very friendly stuff made our experience even better. The rooms were nice and clean, both A/C and wifi worked perfectly. The food was delicious, local style. We decided to take half board, giving us an opportunity to explore Kelaa village. The island is big for Maldivian standards, with a charming village and astonishing 2km long white sandy beach. The lagune is great for swimming, you may even spot turtles, although the visibility was too low to find them with a mask. There is no house reef but HHK organizes snorkeling trips to the nearby reef for a good price. We saw plenty of sharks and had a great encounter with manta ray. One thing to mention are mosquitos at the evening, but hey that’s nature. All in all, we had a great time at HHK, and can highly recommend it if you are looking for guest house type of accommodation. If you are looking for a peaceful inhabited island, where you can wander around, experience local culture and food, plus enjoy one of the longest & empty white sandy beach, than you should definitely put Kelaa and Holiday Home Kelaa on top of your list.
