Victors Guest House is tucked away from the main drag so is not too noisy. It is basic but very clean. The owner is neutrally polite but helpful.
Hot water worked for the first shower but then no more but cold showers are welcome in the heat of Malaysia! 
I agree with another reviewer that with a little maintenance or even upgrading of the rooms this place could be much better.

OK for 1 or 2 nights. 

This is place is for budget travelers / backpackers and it doesn't pretend to be anything else. The prices are cheap and you get very good value for what you pay - including a reasonably comfortable bed.

Victor's could easily score 4/5 if they just did a little bit of maintenance work... The upstairs toilet needs (a) a lock on the door (b) the leaky toilet fixed (c) a rose on the end of the bum-hose (d) a hook on the door to hang your stuff. The shared bathroom needs a shelf for shampoo etc. Some of the rooms have gaps at the top of the walls to allow airflow... this is great but mosquito netting needs to be put over the gaps... I sprayed my room every night AND had a coil burning at night and the mozzies still got to me.

Otherwise, Victor's benefits from a fantastic location (a) 20m to the night market (b) 20m to the bus stop to George Town and the Airport (c) 50m to the beach (d) 5 minutes from heaps of cheap hawker eateries and 2 hawker foodcourts.

With a little bit of work Victor's would score 4/5

The guest house is very difficult to find and the road is very small. Poor service, provided with kettle yet no cable to reach the socket.  There are four of us, and we are provided with only 2 cup with no spoon. Wifi is not working too...Shabby room and it's noisy due to wooden plank.

We were looking for budget accomodation so once we arrived to Batu Ferringhi we checked a few places to see how the rooms look like. People are very nice in Malaysia so thats why I got shocked when we asked the Indian lady at Victors guest house to show us the room and were indecisive since the room seemed a bit dodgy so we said to her we would check few other places before we make decision she started to shout with us that we make her open the room and then we dont stay blablabala.. I found it very rude plus the rooms were really dark and smelled funny even tough it seemed to be clean..If someone looks for this kind of budget accomodation I recommend to go down to the seaside where for the same price u can get seaview bungalow and and apartments with windows and way much better treatment.

At Victor's Guest House you are close to everything in Batu Ferringgi, Penang, a block from the beach, many, many restaurants and night food market a short walk away, the location is very good.  A Indian family owns and operates Victor's and look after your needs.  The rooms are small, tidy and serviced everyday, but you must really be on a tight budget to stay at Victor's.  There is a cut through for pedestrian traffic that is right outside of the rooms so quality of sleep depends on the foot traffic going by.There is a hot shower and television (no cable), that sometimes works (about 50/50)  If you are gong to stay for a week or more you can get the price down from RM80 to RM60.
