74 reviewsWe took bus from Beppu train station to Okamotoya which is pretty outskirt of the city center. Since we didn't have a car, there's no where else to go except visiting the Yunohana-goya that is 5 minutes uphill from the ryokan. We received coupon for free entrance and free hot-spring eggs, so it was a pleasant and relaxing short walk while enjoying the view. As there are only a limited number of rooms, chances of enjoying hot spring bath by only one person is extremely high. Though I really love that fact, taking the outdoor hot spring bath alone at night is scarier than I thought. I wish they could convert it to family bath so that at least we can enjoy the outdoor bath as a family. The view from our room is beautiful and peaceful. Both our dinner and breakfast were delicious. I was told that they do not accept credit card, so had to withdraw enough cash for the payment ahead of time. Travelling in Japan for so many times, this is the first place we encountered that does not accept credit card. Not a big deal, but can be a bummer for some. After checking out, friendly staff lead us back to the bus stop. The wait was about 15 minutes to go back to train station.
