The toilet didn't work. No electricity. No AC. No access to wifi from our room. When the electricity went out on first night, roaches appeared.  No access to management when called so we left but was still charged for the stay of 4 days.

This hotel was surprisingly extensive, in need up updating, but was fine for our overnight stay

The property is in a beautiful location on the sea front.

We arrived quite late into the evening for an overnight stay and greeted by the owner Mr Manley Wallace who stood outside to make sure we did not drive past, which was kind and he made us feel very welcomed.  

As this was a short stay we did not sample the food or bar area. The rooms were very basic and as noted in need of updating. The front door to our building did not lock which made use query our safety, but we were fine.

Unfortunately the tv did not work, neither did the wifi.  We felt the staff could have done a bit more to resolve this for us, but as this was an overnight stay we accepted the situation.

The staff were otherwise friendly enough.

The accommodation was reasonably priced and fine for a short stay.  Once update, it would be spectacular!

Pleasant Stay at a Resort With So Much Potential

Just had an amazing Fried Kingfish dinner and delicious sunset on top at the Bluefields Bay Resort. Great boutique resort and lots of room for getaway weddings and parties. A must visit when in Westmoreland.

Paradise tucked away

First of all, my husband and I wanted an authentic experience in Jamaica.  And here we got it!!  This IS NOT a Sandals type place, so if you are high maintenence with American-like expectations, don't waste your time. You WILL be disappointed!!  If you like solitude, gorgeous views and wonderful food, this is it.  We were practically the only visitors there.  The property is absolutely beautiful.  The owner Manley and his staff of cute young local girls were very pleasant.  The rooms were VERY basic.  Low water pressure and no hot water...not a problem for me in this climate.  There is a TV and Wifi, but the purpose of our trip was to disconnect from the world. Rooms had small bathroom & kitchenette, but don't cook because the food was outstanding (I can't say this enough!!). We also went snorkeling in the water at the property.  Beware when you walk in the sand to get out there, you will sink!! Try crawling to a patch of grass to stand on, once you get out there you're fine. There are 2 property dogs that I fell in love with too.  They also had a party there which was fun to experience.  Christmas Eve was very loud too, but we expected as much.  I will post pics later.  Amazing experience, very eye opening!!

Perfect place for low maintenence lodging

It not every where you go , get this kind of feeling it awesome very relaxing the staff or wonderful the place is clean the food very nice the price is just right. With the sun is shining android the cool breeze coming off the ocean just marvelous. .

This Just What the Dr order

We found this place by word of mouth when we were looking for a tranquil place on the South Coast, West of Black River, after having  been in Treasure Beach for  long enough  and still having a couple of days before we had to fly back out of MoBay. This resort (please don’t get misled by the expression “resort”, nothing to do at all with huge crowded places with animation, tourist food etc!)  is located in  Cave on Bluefields Bay. We stayed there for five nights, longer than planned. There are three lovely wooden cabins with (silent!) fans, private bath room and - a perfect view. The cabins  sit direct at the sea shore, and you hear nothing but the surf. Every day we sat out on our little veranda, watching a beautiful sunset.  It is true that  the cabins could do with a bit of brush-up, but they are well-maintained and clean (after two days we were offered new towels and the carpets in the bath got exchanged!), the mattrass was firm and - the environment and the view are priceless.
The resort is in a big lush garden, with old trees and stone banks.  There is no real beach, to the left and right there are mangroves, but it’s only a five minutes’ drive by route taxi (J$ 100) to Bluefields Bay. We were fully happy with staying on our  verandah, or in the garden, watching pelicanes and listening to the birds in the garden.
There is a restaurant open all day, and Pete, the chef, cooks your meals to order. It was here that I got the best fish during our whole stay on Jamaica.
The staff  go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay; they also arranged for transport to MoBay airport when we had to leave. There is a  shop just across the road, but really the prices in the bar and the open-air restaurant are very reasonable (also for drinks).
Apart from the cottages, there are also 2 fully self-contained apartments (kitchen, a/c,  tv,...)   and 7 rooms (with TV and AC).  
If you just want to get away from  it all and  enjoy nature, sunsets and the sea, this is the place.  We had found it difficult  to find a place like this on the South-West coast, but it seems they have now come up with a web site which is   http://www.manleywallaceresorts.com/rooms
