33 reviewsResidence & Sportlodges Claudia Plaus The Hidden Gem of South Tyrol IIaly 614010265 I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Plaus a small village located in the apple growing region of the South Tyrol mountains northern Italy This is a predominately German speaking area as it was up until the end of WWII belong to Austria The accommodation was provided by Residence & Sport Lodges Claudia in Plaus Claudia Schuler was the Italian hand bike champion she represented Italy at the 2012 Paralympics.games in the UK Bike racing took place at Brands Hatch she is a most welcoming host with a wonderful happy disposition .A very well equipped wheel chair friendly modern apartment on a self catering basis was provided .The finish in the rooms was second to none only the very best fixtures and fittings being employed from built in dish washer to walk in shower We stayed on the first floor accessed by a lift or stairs this offered the very best views of the stunning vista a delight to wake up to the surrounding mountains.A comprehensive array of utensils is provided pots and pans etc.A TV also touch button electric hob provides the cooking facilities coffee maker toaster electric kettle fridge all provided to ensure all your everyday needs are met .The apartment also had a balcony with table four chairs plus two very comfortable loungers all overlooking the 25 meter heated pool situated in a very well manicured gardens Around the pool are sun loungers and round loungers with canopy's On the upper floor a Finnish style sauna also a hot tub will enhance your stay also there is a well equipped gym The surrounding area lends its self to numerous walking and bike trails up into the mountains Take a trip up the near by Aschbach mountain via the cable car to enjoy the magnificent view of Plaus There is a great restaurant try the Schweineschnitzel its delicious also 13km from Plaus are the Partschinser Waterfall well worth a visit to these spectacular water falls also near a excellent restauran offers a warm welcome with English speaking staff This is a wonderful part of Italy that you will love from the beautiful mountains to the very friendly locals
