We loved this hotel set in a charming little town just outside of Bolzano! The host was very friendly to us even though we spoke no German and only know a tiny bit of Italian. One really excellent perk to staying here is that they provided each of us with a Sudtirol Alto Adige guest pass (Bolzano/Bozen) card. This card gave us FREE bus, train, museum, and funicular (cable car) access which resulted in huge savings!  The hotel has a lovely pool and garden area and a full breakfast. (Pastries, breads, cheeses, meats, cereals, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, eggs made to order, coffee, tea, juices, milk.) They will even ask if you would like them to cook a fresh plate of eggs for you. The room was clean and comfortable with a little balcony overlooking the garden.  They do have parking if you need it, but we arrived by train and only used public transportation. It is located very close to the train station (3 min walk) but in a quiet location.  We will definitely stay here again!

I've lived in Stampfer Hotel for 10 months.
The first day Mr Stampfer was thinking about asking me a 5 stars hotel price quite too high also for Bolzano, considering no flat cleaning, no laundry service, no meals at all. After discussing about the price he lowered it, explaining that at the end I'd paid 50 euros for cleaning the flat. When I left I paid 200 euros for that service.
Mr. Stampfer has an unprofessional behavior, he loves showing he's clever than you, it used to happened expecially when I was parking my car, he's quite self confident to underline you're doing something wrong and, when possible, he suggests you're trying not to pay him. 
He gets in your apartment without asking. One morning, while I was inside the apartment he knocked the door, and besides I politely asked him to wait outside a bit, he opened the door saying: "don't worry I just want to try the door".
He usually screams how stupid is his wife, which I have never heard a bad word against him. 
Well, if you're a woman and are thinking to stay in Stampfer Hotel I'd suggest you to abandon the idea.

Nightmare

Family hosted hotel, next to a train station, but in a narrow street. XX century style...no WiFi...no languages (german and italian only)...no cleaning...no good place to rest. Only one night opinion.
