The rooms are very, very barebones, but they were clean.  The property is lovely.  Great pools and access to the Sea of Galilee.  The only complaint was the food.  The restaurant was awful.  Food was often still frozen or overcooked.  We could not wait to leave only because of the food.

Kibbutz Ma’agan is a beautiful and peaceful site on the lake/sea. Primarily, I would say that those are the main reasons to visit. The accommodations are good, and the food is good, but the real attraction is the beauty and serenity of the site. I would certainly not hesitate to stay here again!

Beautiful and Serene

Just returned from a 3 night stay.  Location is amazing at the lower end of Sea of Gaiilee.  Room was ground level with nice sitting area inside and out.  Pool is great although it can get crowded which limits lap swimming (there are lane lines but not observed).  Food was ok not great.  Like a lower class cruise line Buffett.  Seemed to be geared more to young families/teens.

Expensive ($300/night) given the level of accommodations. Need some ice? Go to the store. Need a wine glass? Not available… even though there is a stack on them behind the bar. Food was way below average. Our guide had been coming here since the 80’s and even acknowledged that the place has significantly suffered since Covid. Staff seem completely uninterested. It’s not within walking distance of anything and a cab is generally a 20+ minute wait since they are coming from Tiberius. While it’s on the Sea of Galilee, the whole setup and service by the water feels like a runner down summer camp on its last legs. Plastic chairs and tables haphazardly strewn about and hadn’t been wiped down since March it seemed.

We spent an afternoon at the Sophia in Tiberius which was much, much nicer for the same rate. Won’t be back

A run down summer camp

A Kibbutz literally on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.  Accommodation was in chalet like rooms complete with kitchen sink and fridge . I ashamed to say that I didn't take note to see if there was a cooker. Such was the outstanding fare provided at meals times that we didn't self accomodate.
There was even a small shop where one could purchase the basic necessities of life.
The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
My only complaint was the weather was rather inclement so that we didn't feel like using the swimming pool. 

Relaxing Stay

An amazing place with so much kind and helpful people!!! Very nice and clean apartments with beautiful view the Sea of Gallilea.. 
Special thanks to mrs Lemor for her kindness,she helped us a lot..and to mrs Maria the girl from Greece who also helped us and was so polite with us!!!

"A unique place you should visit"

Location is great, right on the Sea of Galilee.  Spot is very accessible to other tourist spots around the lake.  Food was also good, We stayed here as part of a Christina pilgrimage tour.  Lots of locals were here for the weekend also.

We are a family of 5, youngest is 2 years old, we stayed for 3 nights.
The hotel is at a great location, the rooms are ok, overall it's a very nice place for families. However our experience was terribly damaged by the rude staff. On our last night we requested a late checkout so we could refresh before the long drive back. We were told that we can checkout at 12:00 and to check again the morning for later checkout.

The next morning I was told that we must leave by 11:00 and not a minute later, knowing that we were allowed to stay at least until 12:00 we were completely unprepared to leave at 11:00. This is the time to mention that the hotel was more than half empty.

Instead of enjoying our last day we immediately started packing as fast as we could, but it takes time for a family of with 3 young kids to pack.
A rude receptionist called us 3 times!!! within 20 minutes, demanding that we leave the room immediately and threatening to charge us for another day!!

While other hotels offer a complimentary late checkout when the capacity is low Maagan hotel chose to rudely throw out a family with young kids without any logical reason and despite an approval initially given by them!

I'm sure there are other nice places with similar good location and much nicer staff.

Rudest staff ever!

Pool and private beach are great for families.
Rooms suffer from poor maintenance; rusty fridge, broken lintel, a crumbling wall.
Breakfast was super basic and boring.
Management doesn’t seem to enforce its own directives that forbid loud music outdoors.
Overall, poor value for money!!

Poor value for money

Great middle of the road hotel with large pool, secluded beach, shade, bar, and breakfast. 
As a side note, next door there is water sport location called Adam Surf. They offer windsurfing, paddle boards, and kayaks.
Well worth checking out the place! We'd return.
