i had an excellent stay here, the staff very good, food was excellent, the room very clean and tidy, the bed was v comfy, breakfast in the morning was to much, all in all very good, met the boss, very nice bloke.

Booked through booking.com a room for the night between the 2nd and the 3rd of April.
To be sure we were accepted i sent a message through booking.com to the hotel. In case there was a problem arriving between 0000 and 0100.Hi

That's the answer.
We arrived at 12 50.all door closed. Rang the hotel number, a rude guy said no way he was going to open the door even if I had proof. (start to think he gave the room to someone else.)
 Call the Garda. We where outside at 3 below zero in the middle of nowhere. Garda try to call the hotel with no answer. So I went to the road hoping in some luck and first car was a taxy with a Saint the dropped us to hotel in city centre where I'm writing now. Waiting in the lounge to get a room at 5 in the morning since no room is available in Dublin. Reggie the receptionist of the maples house is amazing.
I'll go through lawyer against that hotel

The owner is horrible to customers as we were leaving the owner looked at us and just said " Keys " we said we don't check out until 9 so she said " yeah for one person " even though we told staff checking in there was 2 of us staying, you will usually find her barking her fat ugly face off in the morning as she seems to work alongside the accommodation staff, not to mention the place is in the middle of nowhere and the food is awful

I am confused as to how this got anything above a 2 or 3.  The only saving grace was the service.  The staff was very friendly 
and accommodating. The food was average but room was somewhat awful. Nothing was even remotely new, it was old and threadbare, with a stain and a small hole here and there.  The location was not the best and the taxi service did not want to take us there from the airport because of the traffic (there was none) and literally argued with us when we told him where we needed to go. I’m not against old as long as it’s clean and comfortable.  The beds were not comfortable, the hair dryer was soooo dated that I wasn’t quite sure what it was. There was a live band the night we stayed and it was very loud!! My room is in the back by the parking lot where people were hanging out and being loud (which is fine since they are in a pub and having a good time but not for me)so I didn’t get a wink of sleep.  I just can’t recommend this place.  The photo’s actually make it look halfway decent.  The smell, and quality of the sheets, towels are lost in the pictures.  It has definitely seen better days.  Once again, the staff and the service was fantastic, very helpful and very nice. 

Overnight 

The staff in restaurant were lovely and food was nice. The room smelled lovely when I walked in as there was a diffuser in the powerpoint.  
But I only stayed one night here and that was enough. The rooms are what you'd expect for a pub. 
The shower was strong and hot but towels were small and scratchy. Toiletries supplied were nice.
Room was very basic  and bed was uncomfortable, sheet had moth holes in it and marks in it, the throw cover was old and outdated but underneath there was a nice white Donna cover. Pillows weren't much better. The kettle was grose so I didnt make a hot drink, the blind in bathroom was covered in what looked like mould. 
In the middle of the night I was woken by someone's TV blaring loudly....I think it must have been on a timer as it switched off after about 15 minutes. 

Not worth the money and needs updating

We have visited here a few times over the years and always found it very good. Last night was the same. The food choice is good and well priced.
They have updated and decorated since our last visit and improved the bathrooms and I must say it looks very good.
The staff are very friendly and the seating comfortable. We had the 6oz steak 🥩 dinner at €15.95 each. It was excellent and cooked as requested.
They do great breakfasts here too. Worth a visit.

Saturday night dinner

We visited this venue before and found it very pleasant , and as we were travelling south once again we thought we would call again . Once again we were not disappointed this is a old pub restaurant with lots of atmosphere and the food is to a high standard , indeed the service is excellent . It is handy to the airport and if you go on holiday you can park the car and get a lift to the airport . This venue is good value for money and is a must if you are in the area .

Saturday lunch

a stop over for a trip to Tipperary County  the people were really friendly, the food was really plentiful and worth the price and rather nice. however it is not all day. it was quite noisey even though it had secondary double glazeing. too close to the airport...

nights stop over

Because of the staff and their exceptional care i want to give this location a high rating, but i just cant. I will say this more than once, the staff were exceptional, the service was top notch and we are very grateful for their care of us, and making sure we had a taxi waiting outside at 5am to get us to the airport. The food in the reataurant was delicious, and the vibe in the restaurant and pub was simply incredible. Unfortunately however we booked here as a hotel, we were definitely under the impression yhe hotel was closer to the airport than it was, ok, no worries. They said there was a bus close that ran into town. Ok, close is a stretch, it is a fair walk down the road. A little too far out of town to be convenient, which kind of screwed up our plans to dip into Dublin for a bit.   If you have a car this would be a better scenerio. Once our taxi dropped us off, we were pretty much stuck. It had cost 20 euro to take the cab there from the airport, and we werent up to payin twice that to get to town and bck, it was afternoon and yhe next bus wasnt due for another 1/2 hour and took close to an hour to get to down, so that wasnt going to work, so we were just kind of stuck. There is nothing out this way except another pub/hotel about a mile down the road.  We ate in the restaurant and came back later for dessert. The food was good.  However it ultimately turned out to be the worst accommodation of out trip. (2 weeks, 3 countries) we had a 2 bed room, and both of us had the worst night sleep. You could feel the bed springs when you moved your legs. It was miserBle. The hotel seems a bit of an after thought, and you can tell overall it has seen better days. Personally i dont mind the well used edges as long as the room is clean and the bed is comfy. The room was clean, but the beds were horrible. The bathroom was huge but with some mold spots on the tired shower curtain. They are clear in the description that bar noise is loud, and that really wasnt a problem, it was but we expected it. It really got loid when they shut down for the night. Part of the reason for picking the location was the price, and the idea of staying in such a historic inn. We wish we had paid more, and been able to take better advantage of our last night in the area. Once agian, the staff was exceptional. I just cant recommend the inn based on oir night. It may have just been our room, i noticed others said the beds were comfy, but when my son cant sleep on it, and he can pretty much sleep anywhere, i know its not just me.
