I drove into Ardara for a few nights' holiday, after frustrations of failed international holiday in North America. I knocked on the door without pre-booking and Norah, Landlady, was most welcoming. The room was the last remaining, compact but very comfortable. Norah was so helpful with tips and hints of where to go, attractions to see, she was more than motherly. I've made a friend for life...sample some of the delights of the local area with hospitality, warmth, and good old Irish traditions at Brae House

Best things in Life

We finished a long day's journey and landed in Ardara at 8:30 pm. Nora welcomed us random folks in, and directed us up the street to Nancy's Restaurant for the best bowl of Irish Beef Stew I've ever tasted!  

Nora has everything you will need, and for a negotiated price she will cook you a delightful breakfast the next day!

She's been doing this B&B thing for 26 years and has it mastered!

Perect location!

Stayed at Brae House on the 15/03/19 for two nights with my partner. The House is in a central location and has a public carpark out the back which can be accessed from the back of the house which is really convenient. Great selection of friendly pubs and a handful of great restaurants on the doorstep. We found Nora the owner to be very welcoming and helpful. Our accomadation was room only but I think for a small fee breakfast can/may be included. Most of the rooms are upstairs (there is maybe a ground floor bedroom, didn't ask) via a small windy narrow staircase with about 10 steps. Our bedroom consisted of a double bed (there are family rooms too I believe) which was more comfortable than any bed I have ever slept in when staying at a 4 star hotel. For me personally I believe a comfortable bed is very important in accommodation. So well done Nora for not scrimping on our good night's sleep, cracking night's sleep, so cosy I even wanted to take your bed and quilt home with me lol. Our room was small but cosy with one wardrobe and two bedside cabinets which was amble. There are no tea making facilities or TV but I did not mind as I didn't come to Ardara for the weekend to watch telly and drink tea lol. The en suite with shower is immaculate with fresh white towels, flannels and a shower gel provided.  Over all the whole house is immaculate and very much loved and cared for.  A great wee place to stay and I would highly recommend Nora's Brae House to any traveller. Thank you Nora for a wonderful stay and we hope to see you again. Well done Brae House, we loved staying with you.

Central Location

Two friends and I stayed at Brae House last July (sorry it's taken so long Nora!). Nora was great and very friendly. She gave us good suggestions and made us feel as if we were really at home. The Room was cosy and the beds were comfortable. I highly recommend this B&B so anyone passing by Ardara.

Welcoming and cosy

Had booked to stay here for 4 people and 2 more friend decided they wanted to stay aswell so when they rang to book they said they had room for them but wen they said they would be joining us they said no u can't stay and the original 4 who have already. Made the booking cannot stay either. I recieved an email them sayin that they had no room for us which was a load of lies. This is no way to be dealing with people. Im a regular visitor to ardara and it is a great place to go and anywer else I have previously stayed there has been great with very nice welcoming people. It's a great town to visit. But I would recommend that if you planing a trip do not attempt at staying in braehouse unless you want to be left let down and disappointed.
