Below average in terms of cleanliness & hygiene. Walls, Bed, Bedcover & towels have molds (fungus) due to climate.  Service is bad too. Staff get up latter than the guest. Because of it's location ( The Lake & boating , Cokkers Walk, Bryant Park & Central Bus stand)   it has high occupancy otherwise not worth staying. 

Suitable for single night stay if budget and room availability is an issue.  

I would suggest ppl should never visit this place. The manager is such misbehaving.
I saw a helpless couple just was requesting to use the washroom, but they don't have any humanity, even the guy request to pay, but the staff denied, this is global hotel ethics but they should learn that first before opening hotel

For the hotel to learn,

Section 7(2) of Indian The Sarais Act 1867 states, “The keeper of a sarai shall be bound at all times when required by any Magistrate or any other person duly authorised by the Magistrate of the District in his behalf, to give him free access to the sarai and allow him to inspect the same or any part thereof”.

The clause "free access" above is interpreted as anyone can ask for water or use of washroom in any hotel.

The Staffs don't know manners

Terrible. Food is worst. Fish is as old as me. They advertise they are serving kerala food, but cheating. No relation with kerala. Staff are rude. Feel like a mafia set up. Location is easily reachable. Very near to bus stand. So people easily trapped

Like many others I too made a mistake to book this so called hotel (unfit to be called a lodge even)  seeing the pictures and some good reviews in Booking.com and TripAdvisor.  I now realise all these good reviews are paid ones written by people with just 1 reviews and for this hotel particularly !!! Some serious work left to do for both platforms if they still want to stay relevant. 

Below is my review based on one night's stay at this hellhole. 

Why not to stay in Hotel Cokkers Tower - 

1) All rooms are below the ground level and don't have any view whatsoever.  Open your window to see mounds of garbage or just a wall. Some rooms had water leaking from the ceiling and we had to settle for a room with no leaking waters luckily after some frantic searching. 
2) Very small rooms with no fans, just one bedlamp and a bed with mattress joined in three pieces !! Two other light holders had no bulb inside. Smell inside rooms will certainly tell you that the last person who stayed indulged in lot of smoking and drinking.  They don't care to do the basic cleaning after an occupant leaves.
Bedsheets were torn and towels stained that were not replaced even after complaining. 
3) Corridors were filled with smell of cigarette and alcohol all the time with almost zero ventilation.  Seemed like some hidden paradise for all the addicts of the world.  Don't dare to stay with your family if you still have plans to be together in future.  
4) Bathroom was tiny,  dirty and filled with disgusting smells. Basin tap was broken with water dripping all the time. The water coming out was highly contaminated with  green/black moss and probably dead insects too. Clearly their water storage tanks haven't been cleaned in ages. 
5) No hot water was given for drinking even if it was almost 5 degrees outside.  No tea,  coffee, etc available at room. Hot water in bathroom is rationed like some war zone, 3 hours in morning and 3 in evening. In the name of toiletries all I got was two small Medimix soaps worth Rs 5 each. All this for nearly 2500 bucks per night. Don't think the rooms are worth Rs 500 even. 
6) The people in charge of this place are so rude it's better not to talk to them. They seemed drunk at night and gave impression to better stay away instead of complaining about the facilities.  Really pathetic management. 
7) Although I had  a complimentary breakfast no one bothered to inform me about it and I had to literally fight with the management to convince them about it next day. They seemed very surprised with this as no one seems to have ever got a complimentary breakfast in their restaurant.. lol. 
8) The whole place stinked very bad and no one seems bothered. I guess it is still operational just because kodaikanal is a tourist place and sometimes people are helpless when nothing else is available or get duped. Else in normal cities or towns this would have never survived. 

Finally,  I think it will be wrong if I dont mention that this is just next to two very important places in Kodaikanal -  Bryant's Park and Coakers walk which is definitely its usp. Also the govt bus stand and main market area are at 5 mins walking distance from this place. Seems like a lost opportunity for the owners of what could have been a truly remarkable experience for the visitors to this place. 


A decision to regret forever.. Strictly avoid 

Me&frd stay at tha hotel very nicely rooms so I & my frd also very happy we enjoy do kodaikainal trip.food also very nice homely     we enjoy bonfire & music and staff also very nice person near by lake is there we very very happy

I Stay in hotel is good  restaurant and worker is good and nice, food was tasty nice biriyani, the hotel room's is very very nice , give as extra pillows and blanket at 12.00pm ,service was great
