Room was exceptional- clean, quality bathroom products comfy beds

Easy to park right outside. Very cosy, with big windows oooking out to Vik. Shower was on the small side but otherwise it was a great base.

The location was perfect and the accommodations were great, though the mattresses in Iceland are firmer than ours back home in the US.

Cute,  clean cottage. Comfy beds and plenty of coffee for a slow morning start.  A smaller size but adequate for 2 people.    You do have to haul your bags up a stone path,  so if mobility is an issue or you are comfortable in smaller spaces,  this may not be for you.

Vik Cottages was a lovely place to spend a few nights.

All the check in is done via email and online app, very easy and clearly communicated

This is an amazing accommodation when visiting Vik. It is in a very convenient location. You can easily walk into town. The cabin was comfortable, clean and had everything you would need. I was worried when I read a review about the walls being paper-thin. I disagree, there is adequate soundproofing. We only heard people when they were entering the other half of the cabin.

The rooms are soooo small and the bathroom is really odd.  Probably here only for a quick short time so not a huge issue.  It is quite odd though to the right of you is a whole area where the campers park so it feels like you are staying in a trailer park when you look outside.  But it was clean and simple.  Only one tiny window opens so if it is a warm day it is quite warm in the room.

We loved it here! Some of the reviews had me wondering, but we did not find any of the issues people had to be true. Our cottage was quiet, very clean, comfortable, roomy enough, shower is small but not an issue at all, and staff was great making sure we had what we needed. Would definitely recommend & stay again.

The check-in process is a bother. They ask that you download an app and use that for communication regarding cottage number and door code. So, you go through all those steps and await check-in information that doesn't arrive via the app, but through email. The app is never used again since check-out is simply scanning a QR code on the back of your door. The app needs to be done away with.Vík Cottages are very cute and clean. They are small spaces with neighboring units attached. We had a small view of the sea, but mostly it was scenery of other buildings and the road.The walk to the main hotel for breakfast was a breeze, but we found both the eggs and the bacon to be undercooked.  It was a disappointing buffet for the price.Not a stunning experience, but overall we slept well and enjoyed the space in the cottage.

We enjoyed our stay at the Vik Cottages and our meal at the associated hotel. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights there for the first time! The only downside was that the wifi in our room didn’t work, as well as the TV, and the controls on the bathroom heater (so it had to stay on a high temperature). Unfortunately, by the time we realized this, it was too late to have someone look into it, but staff was apologetic for the inconvenience. Overall, we would recommend staying here.

The cabins are cute. There are two separate rooms in each cabin, each have their own key, privacy not an issue. I was a little disappointed in the views, I didn’t expect to see a camping spot and other buildings in front of the cabins. While the view was lacking, the location was very convenient for shopping and dining. Overall the rooms were good.

The room in the cottages are cute. The beds are comfy, clean bathrooms, and rooms are a decent size room. The cottages are shared (2 rooms per cottage) but they were still quiet. The views from the cottages are looking at other buildings and a campsite in front. Other than that, they offered enough of what we needed. I would recommend due to proximity to grocery store and shopping.

The Cottages are close to the Vík í Mýrdal Hotel where you will find the reception service and a decent restaurant (for me the best one in Vik).The cottages are clean, the service is kind and effective and the place is in perfect location for a visit to all the south of Iceland.Warning: If you are visiting Iceland for the first time, please check the room size, most country hotels offer small place. In this cottage (16m2) the shower is "boat cabin" size. Also natural hot water will have "natural" flavour. The place is very fine otherwise.

Clean and convenient place in Vik

The bed was uncomfortable and the shower was very small and limited in the temperature (not hot enough). The staff were amazing and very helpful, and the location and view were great.
