Great customer service and hospitality! Near downtown, just 10 minute walk and near bus terminal which is another bonus! Would highly recommend to couples travelling to Reykjavik and seeking a clean urban vibe in decor.

-	Not disabled friendly – steep stairs to the basement without railing
-	Garbage bin in the kitchen wasn’t emptied for several days
-	Just one parking space for guests on the property – usually occupied 
-	No oven in the kitchen
-	Just a small bar table for eating in the kitchen
-	WiFi was slow and not everywhere in the room

7 nights in Reykjavik

I stayed with my daughter(8 years old) for two nights.

Good
1, Cosy and clean room.
2, 5 min from BSI. Anyway, bus cannot enter this zone. Walkable to city center.
3, there is laundry facility which you can use 10EUR/spin. 
4, small but good kitchen with kettle and refrigerator.  
5, the owner couple is very friendly and helpful

Not so good
1, Photos in some booking site are confusing. Basically, there are studio and non-studio room in the same category but they offer mixed up. I thought it would be studio but not.

convenience location and comfortable stay

We have just returned from a three nights stay in the smaragata rooms. (Oct 18) rooms are very nice and clean. Beds are comfortable, hard to notice from the outside but pleasant surprise once inside. Don’t let the shared shower put you off there pretty much next to your bedroom door. Did get a little loud on the last night with people checking in late and the doors bang in there quite loud. There is a kitchen with cooking facilities and a fridge. I would highly recommend 

Lovely place to stay

The husband and wife that run it were very welcoming and helpful. They were there if we needed them but did not invade our privacy. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious and had a nice feel to it. The bathroom was well maintained, possibly a few times per day. Kind of felt like a quiet dormitory with 4 or 5 rooms sharing a couple of bathrooms but we were barely there except to sleep. They were a five minute walk to the bus station to the airport too which was a plus.

Clean and Welcoming Space -10/15 minute walk from city center

first of all, the curb appeal, first impression. our studio was behind the main house, in a building that looked like a garage. the windows in our unit faced a wall. the room was not very clean, especially the bathroom. spider webs, scuff marks on the wall and worn out sofa. however, the location was good.  can't have it all. missing a bit of friendliness from the proprietor as well. Welcome to Island.
