Excellent stay! My only complaint would be that the ice around the parking lot area was very slippery and could have used some salt to make it safer.

Great hotel if you’re staying in the Reykjavik area. It is extremely close to the downtown area, probably a 20 minute walk. If you go during winter, bring good shoes for ice as it may be difficult to clean the ice and it can be a bit slippery. The hotel does offer free parking, but it it is first come first serve, so keep that in mind! All in all, Aska hotel was great and very prompt in their message with all the details on how to get there and have access to the hotel itself.

Other than the bathroom flooding, Hotel Aska was a nice, clean, convenient location for the night.

Even with no contact with any staff the experience was very pleasant.

Comfortable and convenient space in downtown. It was easy to find parking and walk everywhere we needed to go. The code wasn't working when we arrived, but Hotel Aska was quick to answer the phone and solve the issue. Overall, it's a great place to stay.

Customer service was incredible.  We arrived really late at night and I couldn't find the access code. I reluctantly phoned and was surprised and how quickly it was answered. The room was also very clean and great to have parking available. Ive booked to stay again!

Weird never seeing staff but lovely rooms. Area was convenient for dining and grocery store.

There are several stairs and no elevator so you have to carry luggage up and down

Overall - the room was comfortable, and a good size. The check-in was simple and the room was easy to find. The bathroom was lovely and was a much higher standard finish than the bedroom. A fridge was supplied but some forks and spoons would have been better than 2 wooden stirrers. The shower was lovely - but the door is too small which results in the bathroom flooding and the lobby is very nicely designed - the rest of the hotel is not of the same standard.

Check in is a nightmare if you are flying in from the states and arrive early. There is no attendant and the lobby is basically a waiting area. Most of the times the codes do not work until your check in time and even though this property does list as a pay at property - it does not work that way. That said, the rooms were lovely if a bit stuffy and warm.  There is not daily maid service and your trash does pile up.

Check in process would be ok, but person helping was rude, and the keypads are cheap. There was so much background noise, if you can't hear the key chime, you dont know if the entry works.  A hugher quality keypad with a light confirmation would eliminate this issue. The entire  bathroom floods when you turn on the shower. Bed was very comfortable and room and bath beautiful.

Very well kept, and good for parking. I asked for an easy room for luggage because I had breast surgery and still after taking the elevator had to go up two flights of stairs. Room was too warm and no air circulating inside the room. There’s no welcoming staff, not a number, had to wait for the next morning to ask a cleaning lady for a fan, and it was tiny. Room is beautiful and clean, but too many inconveniences to get some rest.

I don't know if it was were the room was situated but wifi was glitchy which made the TV pixilate often and connecting the laptop was impossible. It took of getting used too but the door did not want to lock easily so slamming the door to lock it was probably not appreciated by those around us. The location, though was fantastic and the room and facilities were amazing

Second time is not a charm

The definitely served the purpose.  We were grateful to be able access luggage storage so we could secure our luggage and explore the city.  While I knew when we booked that check in was at 3pm, a bit of advice- we had a very early arrival time at the airport (6am) and after over 24 hours of traveling it would be so much nicer for those who have traveled to have the option of an earlier check in time because we were exhausted!  Also, once in the room the shower situation was a bit overwhelming.  Great water pressure and hot water but there was no enclosure for the water so we had water completely covering the entirety of the bathroom floor.  We were not prepared for that.  We were able to clean it up, but I think it is a safe bet that those in the room above us were experiencing the same/similar situation because there were clear “moisture marks” on the ceiling.  Perhaps giving a precautionary warning for those traveling to Iceland that the shower is set up different to save that “oh no” feeling.  The room was not very quiet but since we were exhausted we didn’t care much.  We loved the feather down comforters they kept us nice and warm.  Would stay here again!!

The keycoded system made it easy for people not staying in the hotel to enter. The door to the elevator and rooms was propped open. The lounge area was made available to us when requested, as we had arrived on an early morning flight. Our room was not ready for early check in. A lovely, housekeeper Jodie?? Showed us to our room when it was ready. The area quite local to the main attractions and within walking distance. Parking is outside, the later in the day you park the harder it is. A girl was mugged in her hotel lobby, which put me on high alert in Iceland. Be mindful, the mugging put a dampner on the center of Reykjavik and the pickpocket signs. Will be back amd probably stay here again, as it was a very clean and comfortable room. No complaints at all about the room.

We had trouble using the keypad to get in. Could be user error but it kept saying the code was wrong. We went to the lobby to get assistance but they don’t seem to have staff on site at least at night. We went back and tried the code again and it worked. The hotel is really nice, new, clean and modern. Very spacious bathroom, balcony and great decor. A little outside the central area of the city but great experience overall after we got into the room.

Newly renovated property with self check-in. Unlike previous reviews, we had zero issues with the check-in process. The property owner provided us with codes to access the building and a video on which doors led to where. Parking behind the building is plentiful and convenient. The room itself is spacious and modern, with conveniently located power sockets. Beds were comfortable and the WiFi was among the fastest I have ever had in a hotel. The location is very convenient, in walking distance of a large food-court, across the street from a bakery and a maximum of 30 minute walk to the center of the city.
