6 guys on a blitz week trip through Iceland, with a visit to Vestmann Island. We opted for the Elf Huts instead of the standard hotel. We were here over night because we were golfing the Vestmann Course at Midnight. So 6 guys with 3 huts hunkered down for a much needed few hours of sleep before our ferry left at noon the next day. These huts were PERFECT, big enough to handle 2 dudes, but small enough to be a complete departure from normal hotel stays. The beds were comfortable, the pillows worked, the portable heaters did their job. It was NOT cheap, but what in Iceland is? Well worth the deviation from the norm.

Small but comfortable, had everything we needed for a 1 night stay. Delightfully different then the standard hotel option. Plus we golfed the adjacent gold course at midnight so our stay was brief, but uninterrupted. If you are going to make the effort to travel to Vestmann, you might as well stay in an elf hut.

This establishment is tucked away in one of the coziest corners of the island , and it took me a while to find. It is a bit of a walk from town if you have a lot of luggage. The scenery of the mountains above , with grazing sheep, is awesome. My “barrel “ was clean, cozy and warm!  The decor was homey! The shared kitchen, showers, and toilets were immaculately clean..... perhaps a bit of a walk for some. . The kitchen and dining area was was sizable and well-organized.....take your shoes off before entering!  The owner was very friendly and eager to inform you on the islands sights. Overall, my two night stay was a great experience , at a reasonable price!

Excellent location close to town, but in a serene location right in Herjólfsdalur with nearby trails up the mountain, and grazing sheep! Although I did not do the hike due to windy conditions, it was highly recommended by staff!

Very cute and cozy cabins, and good shared kitchen and bathroom facilities just a short walk away.

We stayed "in a barrel" cabin and it was so charming!  The location was quite spectacular - just off the beaten path across from the golf course.  The facilities at the camp were good - clean showers and bathrooms accessed from outside and the option to use the shower and bathrooms inside the clubhouse as well.  The kitchen/dining area was well equipped and used by many.  It was quite comfortable to have a quick breakfast in the morning.     This is the only accommodation that we stayed in that did not include breakfast, but the overall charm was worth the small hassle.   There was a fridge in the "hobbit house" and we also took the extra linens option - which were cozy and comfortable.

Highly recommended when you tour the island.

Glamping & Camping is located on the Westman Islands of iceland, just on the edge ot the main town. You can camp but I choose one of the barrel type accommodations which feature a small porch, sitting area just inside the door and 2 twin beds plus a mini fridge. I recommend you purchase the optional linen package which includes a duvet. There are also A style cabins.

Behind you rise some amazing mountains and in front of you just past the golf course is the Atlantic Ocean. The nearby main building provides a common area to prepare meals (if you wish) with plenty of dishes, stove, etc. The showers and washrooms are next door. The owner pops by every so often to register you in but if she is not there just give her a call.

While a bit basic for something different you must try this if visiting the Westman Islands.

Common area/cooking area is indoors & very, very clean, with cookers, kettle, toaster, washing up sinks & lots of power points.
Amazing cliff views. Can walk up a steep path to see puffins!

When we arrived we saw the glamping units which looked sturdy. We rang a number on a door and a lovely lady attended us within 2 minutes. 
The first thing that hit us was how clean and well presented everything was for a campsite! The individual rooms for each toilet had a nice warm radiator in, the well thought out individual showers with a lock on the door and hot water with no fee, hairdryer access, the washer and dryer were provided with soap, the kitchen was complete with all sorts of cooking equipment, toaster, kettle etc.
We wish we had stayed there longer as we only had the island planned for our last day. Definitely the place to go from May onwards!

We were suprised how nice this camp was. We went there in summer and slept in a tent. The lady who owns this camp is very nice. The best thing there was that you can stay inside warm and cook for yourself with the equipment it has. I think that this camp is the only one where you can borrow a hair dryer which was very needy since the weather wasn't very nice. :)

This campsite was hands down our favorite spot in all of the campsites in Iceland. The common area is warm, open 24 hrs and made for a nice hang out while welcomed dinner in side and showered. The host was exceptionally nice. We will be back for future stays and would love to try out the glamping side of things!
