Fantastic
17 reviewsThis was a quaint farm B&B, owned by a woman whose granddaughters run it for her in the summer. The little sitting room was great-we could relax and read while our son slept. It was much homier and less sparse than most of the other hotels we stayed in Iceland. There was also a shared kitchen if you were planning on cooking for yourself. The only real issue for us was our misunderstanding of how "geography" works in Iceland. If you go into TripAdvisor looking for the best things to do in Akureyri, all of the things around Lake Myvatn come up. What no one seems to tell you is that Akureyri is actually an hour and fifteen minutes from Lake Myvatn, so 2 and a half hours were spent everyday "commuting" to Lake Myvatn. We didn't do anything but have dinner in Akureyri, so we really made a mistake with the location. Always make sure you check actual distance between a hotel and the sights you want to visit.
