The hostel is just 7 minutes walk from a bus or a tram stop. Extra 15-20 minutes by transport and you are in the city center. Trams and buses run regularly and often. It is situated in a quiet residential district. The nearest supermarket is about 10 minutes walk from your place.
Our room was spacious, with minimum of furniture, but quite clean and cozy. It really corresponds with the name of the hostel and “mode simplicity” is the best characteristic for it. There were 3 more rooms on the floor, and one toilet and one bathroom. There were no problems with hot water. At the same time I would appreciate if there were facilities for towels drying.
On the first floor there was a common kitchen, were you can store, prepare and eat your food. There were all necessary stuff for it.
Personnel is English-speaking, friendly and responsive, but have its working hours only from 8 a.m. till 3 p.m., so you should bear it in mind, when you may need something. An entrance to the hostel is by code, which you get on your e-mail after booking, so you can check-in by yourself out of working hours if you agree it with your landlords beforehand.
As a whole I have pleasant impressions from this hostel and I can recommend it as a place to stay for budget trip.

Life in Wabi-sabi style

its a great place if you need something just to sleep and thats it. its not too far from the city center and  close to the tram as well.
They are also very customizable and they are not that expensive.

Stayed here last summer as part of an Interrailing trip and really couldn’t have had better value for money - paid just under 200 euros for 6 nights and had a very comfortable, clean room in a nice area. There are some decent cafes and restaurants nearby and a small mall complex with a supermarket too. Tram line was also very close and although the hostel isn’t located particularly centrally, it was still very easy to travel to the city centre and explore from there. Perfect place to stay cheaply and use as a base.

Cheap and cheerful

We booked very early and got a very good price. Very impressed with the hostel. Lovely atmosphere, nice people, equipped kitchen, spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Also really good location - close to public transport to get to anywhere in the city and walking distance from Margaret Island

Lovely hostel, great value

We people are not fussy, and we understand that the hostel is not a 5 star hotel.
I'm embarrassed for the scandal.
Which forced us to arrange.
When you two nights sleep at 12.00 and wake up at 5:00 in the morning because 8 menshout and smoke under your window, knock the doors.
Bathroom, this is a separate topic.You can not even brush your teeth there, because there's a lot of dirt.
 We were already ready of course and at 7.00 in the morning to leave. But it was not there.
8:00 AM, there is no one at the counter.
at 8.15 we call us saying - in 5 minutes.
Work came at 8.50 in the morning.
And instead of apologies ... do not touch my, fack
We wanted to show the bathroom.
The answer is also very surprised us.
 It turns out you can talk to guests - a fact.
Understand me correctly we are tourists, and came to Budapest not to be with 8 pairs of smelling men's shoes underneath the door.
Well, do not decently occupy workers and tourists on one floor.
The Internet is working very badly.

Hostel for workers

I went to Budapest in May 2017 with my boyfriend, in order to see these amazing city and to join Depeche Mode Concert. We booked a double room in Zen House hostel, and we found the same attention to details shown the pictures on the web site. The room was very clean, well furnished and spacious. 

The girl at the reception was very kind and she often gave us usefull informations about transports, restourants and so on. In the reception there were also a lot of broshures about Budapest visiting. 

We booked a double room with shared bathroom. This latter was shared with other two rooms in the same floor: indeed, there were two bathrooms, one with only a wc, and the other with everything else, so that you could use the small one in case of necessity if the other was occupied. The only bother of the shared bathrooms was waiting in the morning, so that after the first day we had to anticipate the alarm in order to find the bathroom vacant and to avoid very long waiting to use it. Nevertheless, despite the use of many people, we found the bathroom always clean. I think that the staff washed it at least twice a day. 

We stayed for 5 days, and we payed 130 euros in total, really nothing!! Considering the cost, i have been positively impressed by this place. 
Whatsmore, although the hostel is a bit dislocated from the centre, 5 minutes walking there is a tram stop that bring you in the centre of the city in few minutes (Budapest transports are efficient and quick). 

All things considered, i recomend because it has a very convienient price/quality ratio.
