IceCap Hostel

As most of the accommodation in Ilulissat are rather expensive, IceCap hostel was cheaper than the others. During my visit, which was after summer, there were not many customers and I managed to get the whole room for myself. 

Room comes with kitchen facilities and relevant kitchenware. There was shared washing machine and common toilet.

Location was rather prime and it only took 10 minutes to walk to town center.

Clean and reasonably priced hostel

Positives

- Amazing view to disko bay where you can see icebergs and the sunset 
- Close to the paths where you can do hiking

- I'm not sure if the linens/sheets were so clean

Basic comforts/Amazing view to Disko bay

We stayed at the hostel one night. The place was clean, there was a small kitchen in the room itself which was okay. The price was okay taking into consideration the normal prices for accommodation. The place has a really nice porch with a beautiful view.

It was extremely annoying that when we specifically asked the staff on the phone if the hostel was close to the café (where we where to pick up the keys) the answer was yes. We do not consider a twenty minutes walk to be close to the hostel.

Would stay there another time.

Fine but nothing special

Our small back room was well equipped with all we needed to be self catering, but it felt much more functional than comfortable. 
A single block building with rooms off small central corridor with shared bathroom. Atmosphere was more like we were workers accom. than something touristy; centrally not a 'hostel' in the usual sense due to no shared areas (except the deck), but as described. No internet/ Wi-Fi. The two showers had good temp and pressure throughout our stay. 10-15min walk from harbour/café; 5min from supermarket. Close to bar/restaurant in Hotel IceFjord.

Functional accomodation in a town with few options

This place is falling apart and is situated among scrap cars and boats and rusty containers. Basically the grounds look like slum. It is situated so far from the town centre. and the walls are thin as paper. Book something else
