Stayed here for a few nights as part of a special holiday with our Nephew and it certainly did not dissapoint. We had 2 rooms both of which were gorgeous with fantastic views and everything you could want including artisan bath products, soft towels, tv, wifi and small fridge to keep drinks cool. The beds were very comfy and we slept very well as it's so peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and varied each day, all homemade and so tasty. You must try everything as it is truly delicious, we ate out on the terrace with its fabulous views right down to Volos and the sea, the pictures on website look impressive but the reality is even better. Although there is no dedicated parking for the hotel there is no issue parking on the road, always plenty of space and it's very safe.  Makrinitsa village is one of the loveliest places we have ever visited, we ate there in the evening twice and it has a magical vibe and is full of charm. There are many small villages to visit and also the coast and its many beaches are within a short drive. We all thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and would definitely go back to The Pelion and stay at this hotel again. Go on...treat yourself you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely Beautiful

Very nice room, a bit small, but truly traditional, fantastic view from the balcony and windows, very nice breakfast, which we ate overlooking Volos, easy parking (on the road though, but safe enough for the traffic). Recommended!

Beautiful traditional room

Archontiko Argyro is a old classic hotel with good view rooms. My good choice to stay near the villages of Pelion. and just 20 minutes from the city of Volos. From here you can go by your car to all the other villages of the area.

Quiet boutique hotel with amazing breakfast

Stayed for 3 days for business trip in this beautiful hotel. The area is so relaxing around trees and mountains. The room was clean, nice decorated with a small fireplace in the room. Free wifi had a very good quality. Breakfast was delicious. You must park your car, at the edge of the road , and walk the stoned traditional road to reach the hotel. Hotel staff was friendly with a willing to help. the only negative is that is quite hard to find the location of the hotel. This is because there are NO labels, so you should call at the hotel to ask for instructions, or using a gps but still you will drive more km. In general it is a good choice.

Clean-Nice boutique hotel

Nicely placed hotel, not with a great view (only from some rooms), and approx. within a 10 minutes drive from Makrinitsa village and 15 minutes from Portaria village. 

Nicely set rooms apart, very well operating heat, fireplace and comfortable bed. Huge bathroom. 
They have a two-level balcony accessible to the visitors, which is excellent - but during only summer as during winter you cannot stand for a long time time out there - very cold in the mountain. 

The only negatives? Two actually - there is NO parking space, so if you are lucky enough, you can park on the road ~ 100 meters lower and you sleep on your prayers that no drunk drivers runs onto your car  during the nighty (you will find your car after, approx. 200meters down the clif) and the lack of information that the hotel is situated about 3-5 minutes walk into a rock-paved "pavement" which is actually not accessible by elderly, people with disabilities, or even people holding big luggage. 

Please let me also take special note to the others' reviews. There is NO way you can stand up for a room within the village of Makrinitsa or Portaria. The villages are so full with people during holidays, winter-breaks and national-bank holidays that once (and if) you manage to park your car into the village area, you CANNOT un-park it until the day you leave. It will be either blocked, crashed, smashed, or, in the best case senario, when you come back, you will not be able to park it again at the same space. Someone else will have taken it. 
Therefore, in terms of location it is better to live just outside the village area.

Great rooms, but with lack of the parking, pricey though...

Although it was a quiet hotel, and quite clean, the owners don't know what hospitality means. For example, the owner argued on the telephone in front of the customers, whithout going somewhere else where we couldn't hear; she didn't care. 
Also, the hotel is not easily accesible and has no parking. 
The money is too much for what it offers. Don't worth it.
