Cannot fault this hotel for its location, comfort, service.  The food is of very good quality and plenty of choice.  We had a lovely spacious room overlooking the pool.  The pool area is lovely with lots of choice of sunbeds (very unusual) We had such a relaxing week and the staff really do go out of their way to please.  They are always smiling .   The restaurant staff are so attentive, especially at breakfast when there is no need to ask for more coffee/tea etc., as they are constantly going round the tables to ensure you have enough.  The bar staff in the pool bar have got to be commended for their service and pleasant attitude.  In fact in the whole week we did not come across anyone who was not pleasant. Unfortunately my husband had an accident dislocating his shoulder and the staff could not do enough for us  unlike Jet 2 who could not have cared less  The location is perfect, close to a bus stop and plenty of bars/restaurants . We asked to keep the room on until 6.00 pm as we had a night flight.  They could not accommodate us in our own room but transferred us to the Minos Mare hotel which is in the same building and they transferred our luggage to the room.    I would highly recommend this hotel -

Beautiful hotel!!!Very nice pool and gardens.Excellent hospitality very nice big and clean rooms ,delicious breakfast and dinner. Excellent and very polite staff!!You can relax and enjoy your holidays!!!💖

Relaxing holidays

To make the long story short: MINOS MARE ROYAL is AMAZING. From friendly, attentive staff to extra delicious food and perfect location. Very clean and well maintained, with direct access to own part of the beach. Whats worth mentioning is that there is no fee for sunbeds and there is enough sunbeds for everyone (at least during our stay there). Very close to many tavernas, car rentals, souvenir shops and markets which are basically in 2 min walking distance. This place is perfect for families with kids as its quiet and has a very nice pool.   

We stayed in Minos Mare Royal, which is 5* but I bet that 4* part of the complex (Minos Mare) is a delight as well.
Altogether: highly recommended.

Excellent!

Very lovely hotel all round. My room with private balcony plus silent air conditioning was just lovely. The staff make this hotel one star beyond. I did not meet one member of staff who wasn't helpful/multi-lingual/courteous/knowlegeable/friendly and all with such a "can-do" attitude. Easy to just stay by the wonderful pools with copious loungers, both in and out of pool, eat on the beach and drink banana split cocktails in the beach bar.
Well placed however for shops, restaurants, car hire, tourist trips, diving etc

Ab Fab!

Just returned from a fabulous week at this beautiful 5* hotel.
Very classy hotel, with lots of cool marble interiors.
The rooms are very spacious, With a lovely furnished private balcony.
Beautiful bathroom with spa bath with shower, and additional wet room shower.
Lovely restaurant with fantastic staff, and cooked to order meals served at the table, no walking around dried up buffets here.
Amazing pool and gardens, with ample sunbeds, and furniture, and the very welcome 'Oasis' pool bar, with special thanks to Stella, and her lovely smile.
Very smart Poseidon restaurant in the Beach, and thoroughly enjoyed the Gala Dinner held there, fabulous food and amazing dessert.
This really is a beautiful hotel.
The one downside was our room was double booked on arrival, which was very disappointing as we booked 10 months ago.
We were shipped off to another hotel for 1 night, which was a very bad experience indeed.
However, we were collected late next morning, and taken back to our hotel, and into our room which was lovely.
As a gesture, the hotel gave us the All Inclusive option, which was a nice gesture, but apart from a few drinks, didn't really use, as we don't like lunch.
We also received Champagne, chocolates etc., all accepted with thanks, but a bad start to our holiday, and we lost  half a day of our week.
It does seem from past reviews, that double booking has happened previously, and this should NEVER happen, particularly in a 5* hotel.
Management please take note.

Nice, quiet, clean, good location, helpful and very kind staff. Food was great, car rental service was awesome, animations interesting and the pool and beach very nice. Very good hotel with a good price ranges. It was a very good week spent here.

The hotel is equipped with all you need to rest and enjoy your best holidays. There are areas for children and the pools are great. The breakfast is good but not awesome. However meets the basics. Is very well located close to the highway to Chania and Iraklio. Sit back, relax and enjoy 😎⛱⛱⛱🏊🏻🏊🏻☀️☀️
