Second time in Vazakas rooms (first in 2014).

Located in the center of Mitylena, Vazakas Rooms is a good place if you like to live like the inhabitants of the town. The Bizaniou street is a narrow street and in the labyrinthine part of the town. Although is it possible to go there by car, it's not so easy, and there is not really a place for the car. Two years ago I find a place for the car 50m from the house, but it was not really a place. The best thing to do is to let the car 100/200m far, because you don't need a car for few days in Mitylena (this year I go there by car, let the luggages and find an easy park 200m away).

The Vazakas rooms is a good place because you are at 100 m from the main harbor, from the typical shops, and it is easy to go to the old harbor (epano skala) at the opposite of the town (not far aniway from the new harbor).

There are several rooms, ask for a room with town view (the others rooms have a street view).

Of course, the kitchen is not very well equiped, but you are in town with so many tavernas and bars, some of them just 100m far (the fridge is ok!). There are so many and wonderfull  places in Mitylena for a lunch or breakfast, or diner!

The people (an old women, and sometimes the son) are kind, if you need something they are there, and just ask what you need. The women doesn't speak fluent english, but knows enough for a basic conversation, the son speak fluent english.

The rooms are clean, the bathrooms ok.

A good choice for a good price, very well located, typical, what more in this wonderfull Mitylena town.

A good choice for a short stay

I stayed 4 nights and while it was clean, owner friendly and 5 minute walk to harbour, cafes shops etc there were down points.  Kitchen had no cooking pans  and one tiny hob only good for maybe heating water, dogs barking a lot and toilet had a design flaw with flushing, tv didn't work.  Very hard to find as there was no sign saying Vazakas, just house number.

Not great, but not terrible for few days.

We stayed there 3 days but we don't like it very much except the location. firstly it is very hard to find the apartment even you find the right street. Because there is no sign as "Vazakas Rooms"; the only sign is written as "rent a room". But it is placed very good point: very close to the centre and far away to feel local atmosphere. There is no housekeeping and do not clean the room. the bed is very uncomfortable and they only left one toilet paper. On the other hand, our room has a very big balcony and great view.

Not a good experience

We arrived there and we had to wait for the owner to clean the room. Both of them were very friendly however not helpfull at all. We met eachother only in check in and check out and another time at stairs by accident. We stayed 4 days and they didn't clean the room and just the third day we found a toilet paper roll outside our door... The room was ok for it's money (35€ and they made us a better price at 30€). Hot water available all the time, heating panels, a fridge and some plates and glasses. They had an aircondition without a remote. We asked for it because we were freezing at night, but they told us they don;t have one (!). They had a quill cover abd some old woolen blankets. The owners had some dogs and they're barking sometimes. There were no toiletries, just some liquid hand soap.
The good thing is that it's located in a very quiet neigbourhood, just 100 meters from the centre of the town. You can go anywhere in 3-5 minutes.
