Al Mare Hotel

Been there with my family and for a 3 star superior hotel it is very good and  we really liked it!  Definitely will be coming back to this hotel which seems to be the best! Thanks to all Management and Staff for the outstanding service!

We first picked Al Mare hotel because it is literally a stone's throw from the sea, with a kids' pool, a beach bar conveniently placed next to it, and, it is pet friendly, which is important for us! The room size is bigger compared to most hotels on the Aegean coast, or maybe it seemed like that because it was so beautifully decorated to the smallest details! I loved staying here! And the food ... 10 points go to chef Juli :)

I was extremely happy with my stay, the food was perfect, the service exceptional, the beds comfy and the facilities more than adequate. All the staff I spoke with were helpful, friendly and very professional. A most comfortable stay!

Easy access to parking.

Because of the uncertainty created by the pandemic it seemed that they don't want to invest too much for this season (which is understandable). Otherwise, the manager and the staff are friendly, the food, even you don't have many choices, is tasty, and the view is worth all the money, especialy if you will serve your dinner from the terace. All in all, if you are not too pretentious, you can have a nice holiday here.

This hotel is about 2 km far from Polichrono city center, with its own beach. It is on a quiet place, away from night clubs and night life.
Rooms are small, towels and bed sheets are changed every three days. There was a sewage smell in our bathroom, but I suppose it is common everywhere in Greece, since our room was on the ground floor (which is basically basement). 
I read in other reviews about complaints on food, but I disagree. The breakfast and dinner are offered on a buffet system, and there is a large variety of meals every night. 
The real quality of this hotel is its own open beach and its beach bar. Waiters are very kind and fast, unlike on other beaches in Greece. Music is relaxing, without horrible summer hits that last only one season. They play a really nice mix of jazz, bossa nova and pop & rock song from the 80's.

Average hotel

Good choice

Perfect location for families with children, because hotel is on the beach, there is pool for kids and very good bar for parents. :) A lot of kids in hotel and they should think about some kind of playground because hotel has huge yard. Small, but clean rooms in the hotel, tasty food, good stuff... We spent last summer holiday in same hotel, so we could recommend it.

Food is ok. Cleaning lady and staff at the restaurant are very polite. Very nice beach. Hotel has its small pool which is big plus. 

Rooms are small. Receptionist is almost never at the reception and she is not very polite. Bathrooms do not have glass or curtain in the shower so when you take a shower water is everywhere in the bathroom. Understaffed - e.g. there is only one cleaning lady. Expensive beach bar. Hotel was not fully ready for the season in the middle of June, pool was painted and some minor renovation in the beach bar was done, which should be done before summer season begins.

Overall poor value for money.

Poor value for money

The hotel is old and poorly renovated. The rooms are very small and you won't find insects protection nets on any of the windows. The internet connection is very poor in the rooms, in the bar and on the beach. The hotel restaurant in located in the lobby area, close to the main door - hence you are eating your breakfast or dinner while people are passing through (coming or going to the beach).The hotel offered poor food options and NO FRUIT at breakfast nor at dinner, with an explanation that fruit is expensive. The facility is not kids friendly as it has many stairs and many unprotected open areas. It is definitely no value for money!

No Value for Money

The manager did NOT instruct his customers to keep the distance of at least 1.5 m distance between sunbeds on the beach. We kindly asked him to apply the standard and his response was that he does not want to get in a fightb with his illegal guests. Shame for him. Sacrificing public cents for some euros is not the right attitude. He will not see us back on his hotel beach.

Not a safe place to be

Only good experience about Al Mare 'hotel' is a guy who was working at beachbar-Saki. He was only polite and kind with the guests and only who knows his job. In general everything else not value for the money.
