I led a group of 17 women on a yoga retreat on the island of Kythera, for a week,  in Sept 2023z I can’t speak highly enough of the entire family who own and run the Pelagia Aphrodite Hotel. Tanya was amazing with her support and assistance during the Retreat. Nothing was a problem. I can’t wait to return for a personal visit with my family. Amazing experience

I attended a fantastic Yoga Retreat at Hotel Aphrodite and it was amazing. The hotel was so clean and the people so caring and attentive to every need. Great rooms, spacious and the view is beautiful. The breakfast each morning was delicious, locally sourced and presented with care. Thank you HOtel Aphrodite for making the week so special.

Excellent family run business who went out of their way to ensure your comfort. Fresh figs and fruit from their farm for breakfast, great coffee. Beautifully clean rooms and service with a smile. Amazing position with an unforgettable view.

A hidden gem.

My room was spacious, beautiful and impeccably clean, as were the grounds and common areas.  The view and the sound of the waves on the shore could not be beat.  Breakfast was fresh, plentiful, and delicious.  But even better than all that is the family that owns and runs Pelagia Aphrodite.  Everyone was warm, welcoming, and friendly, while also being professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating.  I would give them 10 stars if I could! 

Exceeds All Expectations!

Excellent. Sleeping with the sound of waves is heaven. Waking to watch the sun rise on our balcony is heaven. A nice walk and swim before the best breakfast with lots of homemade goodies is heaven. The service is wonderful at this family run hotel. I am so grateful for this hotel. I will return. 

It was a perfect visit! 

The Pelagia Aphrodite Hotel is easily one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. The staff were so warm, welcoming and helpful. The hotel was easy to get to but also felt private and peaceful. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and had a beautiful view right on the water! My friends and I miss simply eating breakfast outside in the sun. We also woke up early and watched the most gorgeous sunrise on the water right next to the hotel! Visiting Kythira was the highlight of my time in Greece, and we’ll definitely be returning to this hotel in the future.

The perfect stay!

I had the privilege of being invited to join my family on a Greek holiday adventure in the Summer of 2010 of which included the Island of Kythera, staying at Pelagia Aphrodite Hotel, a gorgeous family owned hotel situated in the quiet seaside village of Agia Pelagia.  The hotel overlooks Furi Ammos Beach, known for it's vibrant red pebbly sand, crystal clear water and stunning sunsets and is only a ten minute walk along the coastline to a great selection of cafes and restaurants.

From the minute you step onto this unspoilt island and into this beautiful quaint hotel you are made to feel like family, our hosts going out of their way to ensure we felt at home and that we enjoyed all the wonders their island had to offer, treating us to a health organic breakfast, including Kytherian honey, they say is the best in Greece and my favourite, fresh figs, YUM!  They guided us to the most amazing unspoilt beaches, traditional culinary delights and historic sites that have remained precious memories of our visit.  

I hope to visit again in the very near future and experience more of this stunning island and catch up with my new found friends and life itself.  Greece has a way of waking up the soul <3

Southern Grecian Gem

We really enjoyed staying at the family owned Pelagia Aphrodite while visiting beautiful Kythira last June! 
The location was private with stunning sea views, literally located right on the water and next to an idyllic beach. 
The hotel & our room were spotless! 
The breakfast was excellent with many local and homemade products. I couldn’t get enough of the figs, which came straight from their fig tree to our plate!  
Tanya, Tereza & Jason were all very friendly & extremely helpful! They arranged all our restaurant bookings, taxis & recommended a bunch of things to do while we were on their beautiful island! We thoroughly appreciated the personalized service and by the time we left we felt like being part of their family!
This place definitely ticked all the boxes and we highly recommend it!
We will be back!!

An amazing place run by even more amazing people!

I had a wonderful stay in this hotel situated in a fabulous location. It’s right on the beach, beautiful sea views across  to the  mainland and walking distance to the seaside village of Agia Pelagia and it’s restaurants.  The family make you very welcome, help you organise where to explore, swim, site see and eat on your days out. The rooms are well maintained, so comfortable, extremely clean and a great place to come home to each day.  Around 6 each day, while it’s still hot, I loved having a drink on the grass and soaking in the views after a  beautiful swim while contemplating what delicious Greek local fare I’d be eating for dinner.

Haven on Kythera

I have stayed 7 days with my wife at the new wing, in one superior double room. Perfect location, perfect sea view from a really spacious veranda. Very clean hotel and nice breakfast, I enjoyed especially the fresh fruits (the figs). It is a family operated hotel who give great attention to cleanliness and to the hospitality.
