We stayed at Apokoros for 2 weeks at the start of the summer holiday 2022. We booked directly with Philia.I  had been recommended this hotel by a family member. The booking process was swift and efficient. Philia was quick to reply and confirm with documents required. We arrived to a very warm welcome. We stayed in a 2 bedroom ground floor apartment with a separate living area and bathroom. We had A/C in both bedrooms. A welcome gift of water and juice was in the fridge on arrival. 
The hotel is very calm, relaxing and serene. The apartments have everything you need . They are clean and simple. They are exceptional value for money. They are decorated to different themes, We stayed in the garden room. There is no pool but the apartments are up a slight hill a few yards back from the beach. The beach has a lifeguard and is lovely and safe. A 30 second walk down the hill from the apartment are approximately 5-6 tavernas  on the beach offering an array of wonderful Greek and international food at reasonable prices. The resort is definitely family orientated. There are no nightclubs in Kalyves. All I can say is that if you are looking for a relaxing, tranquil stay with a lovely host and fabulous cleaner-Look no further. Thankyou Philia for a memorable holiday. :)

Relaxing family holiday in a tranquil spot

Apokoros always lives up to expectations. The location is ideal for the nearby beach and selection of tavernas all within 100 metres. The hotel itself is maintained to a very high standard with friendly staff always ready to help at a moments notice. The owners daughter, Philia, goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome and special. Our two bedroomed apartment has the most fantastic view across the bay and I could just sit there for hours watching the world go by. Will be re-visiting as many times as possible.

Beautiful and relaxed location

Personally I don't know the definition of boutique hotel, but pretty certain this is not it.
Loose light fittings. Uncapped cut pipes in bedroom floor. Shower head points at wall so you have to hold with one hand. Thats after you've switched the electric water heater on,(situated  immediately above your head in sink sized bath tub) for 20 minutes before you can have a shower. Was supposed to be a treat on our 1st night as man and wife. Certainly will be avoiding this place in the future. Photos to prove I'm not exaggerating

Shabby is not "boutique"

We are coming to Kalyves many years, and this year we found this small hotel. The apartments are really big and comfortable for families with two separate bedrooms and separate kitchen and two balconies. 
We stayed in top floor The grand sea View. The decoration is quirky and very creative.It is the only hotel in Kalyves that has bath tub bin apartments. There is space for children to play and we also had a wonderful massage in the room. The garden is beautiful and there is also space for gymnastics and sunbathing. The rooms are super clean and the staff is very polite and offers genuine hospitality. Also there is a big library.

A different, beautiful small hotel!!

Philia is a great host and gives any information you need for a perfect holiday! The room was very clean, equipped with everything you need. I love the unique decoration and the small details which makes the difference. Very close to the sandy beach with tavernas and cafes, but in a calm environment, a great combination!

A beautiful and unique location to relax!

My experience has always been super friendly and very genuine. You immediately feel the warmth and love from Philia, who runs the place. It feels like a big family home. There are a ton of activities on offer to relax or sightsee, and the beach is SOOO close, practically on the doorstep. Rooms are everything you need for a holiday, with little touches full of love. Definitely recommended for someone looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing stay. Thank you for the beautiful welcome and work you do!

Wonderful place to stay and relax!

If there was a higher rating, Philia and her family would get it! 
We absolutely LOVE staying here as you couldn’t get a better location or service.  Within stumbling distance of Kalyves Beach with it’s Tavernas and shops and due to the fact that we and other guests from other countries return year after year, we get to see each other most years! We are truly blessed to be invited to come back time after time. 
Apokoranas apartments had maintained its Cretan charm and we hope that never changes♥️

Lovely Family run hotel, from the moment you arrive you are made very welcome by Philia the owner. I have been coming here for at least 7 years now and I love it.
The rooms are clean and cosy, and the hotel is very close to the beach and amenities.
Highly recommend staying here, once you come here you want to come back again.

Highly recommend for a peaceful relaxing holiday

Philia (owner) made us feel very much at home. The appartment was bigger than expected, everything worked fine, nicely furbished with nice style. The only aspect which does not get the highest scores is that the expected activities for children took place exactly once in a three week period. The rest was great. The beautifull beach is 3 minutes away and visible from the hotel. Philia helped us with everything (getting a taxi, finding nice trips for the children etc.).  Thanks a lot for a great holliday.

Great place for a family vacation

We left yesterday and I already miss the seevieuw we had from our room!
Everything was great and I advise everyone this hotel if you are planning to go to Crete.
