Hotel is kept spotless clean in every way the serviced daily. Staff and owners are all lovely,pool small but nice snacks and drinks very reasonable restaurants and harbour all close by or taxi can be called at reception there in minutes. Boats trips from harbour very good

Holiday with wife

Everyone lovely from owners to cleaning staff. Hotel on outskirts of Kos town. Far enough to walk into but far enough away to be away from noise. Cleaning done every day. Breakfast only continental but enough. Bar open 24hrs and staff brilliant. Small pool but room for everyone. Very friendly and welcoming hotel would recommend.

Just home from another amazing stay at this fantastic family run hotel. I have been visiting this hotel for 28 years and never been disappointed with the hotel or staff. Always made to feel very welcome and part of the family .
As a solo traveller in recent years this is the only hotel I will stay in and will continue to do so . Staff at the hotel always go above and beyond to ensure a fantastic holiday is had by all .

Hotel koala

Stayed at the Koala hotel 15th-25th September 2024. This family run hotel was lovely friendly and welcoming from Dimetrius his sister daughter mother were all lovely, and Dino in the evening behind the bar. The lovely ladies who worked in the dining room and the room staff  always happy to chat and help in anyway they could. Breakfast was continental with a good choice of food and always fresh.
The hotel was kept to very high clean standards and absolutely nothing was a bother to them from booking taxis or restaurants
I will be very happy to recommend this hotel to friends and family and would happily stay again

Amazing

All staff from Dimitris his sister brother in law daughter mother Dino and all the cleaning staff were fantastic. Check in was easy .The room had a broken mirror on arrival but was dealt with efficiently. Rooms were cleaned daily . Don't expect a English breakfast but what was on offer was enough for us . The bar was reasonable and food was good. They booked a taxi and restaurant for us in Zia using our room number. It is in a quieter location but was only 20 mins flat walking to old town and harbour. We cannot thank Dimitris and all his staff enough for a enjoyable stay .

Great hotel and staff

We have paid a lot more for a lot less on holidays to Greece. Yes this is a 2-star hotel but the service was 5 star. The hotel was very clean and our bedroom was regularly serviced with quality towels and bedding changes too. Beds comfortable. Communal areas were great, bar prices reasonable and breakfast excellent. The location was great for us. We hired bikes to get around from the bike shop nearby the hotel.
The family who own the hotel and their staff team were so welcoming and were on hand if we needed them. We wouldn't hesitate to return and would highly recommend this hotel.

Great well run hotel

What can I say,  although this is a 2 star hotel, the service is 5 star. All of the staff work so hard to ensure your stay is perfect. The breakfast is as you would expect in a Greek Holiday hotel ,Bread,  cheese ,meats, pastries etc. Plentiful and fresh the ladies working at breakfast ensure breakfast is a relaxing experience.  Demetri on reception, front of house always greets you with a smile and will ensure any problems or issues are resolved.  But the absolute diamond is Dino ( the night porter/barman) is is warm friendly welcoming, when time allows he will sit and chat with customers answering questions about the island, best places to visit etc. It really is a place where you arrive as customers and leave as friends. Location ideal about a 15 min walk to Old Town and the harbour.  I would have no hesitation in recommending The Koala. 

2 star Hotel,5 star service 

Everything here is absolutely brilliant! The room is spotless! The breakfast delicious with alot of variety.  What a luxury to wake up, get your breakfast, then go do whatever you want to do, hotel is situated 5 minutes from Kos town and the beach, to come back being greeted with a warm smile and find your room being cleaned and your bed made for you! I feel like I'm in heaven. I highly recommend this hotel which is goung to be upgraded after this season so will even be better! Σε ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ Chin-Hua & Madalin

Love it here!

We stayed here 7 nights and the place is lovely and the people that have this place are so nice, the location is fantastic so near to the main part of town but not too close so was quiet, it is so easy to find your way around from this location. There is a bus from the end of the road that takes you to Therma beach plus an easy to find meeting point if you have booked excursions such as Nisyros or Zia plus two small supermarkets. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and where met with a very easy and friendly check in, the hotel is clean and is fab for anyone working with a budget, I do not usually use extra communal areas such as pools or the roof top area as we generally enjoy exploring but we did here as this is a small hotel the areas where not to busy so you could relax after a tiring day in the sun. We were so happy that the hotel managed to arrange a late check out for us, I felt the list of extras (such as late check outs etc) you could possibly have in the room information was fabulous, with a later check out we where able to make the most of our last day and rest prior to our late flight, the front terrace is a wonderful spot for lounging, I would not hesitate to stay here again, other guests from varying countries all seemed as happy and relaxed as ourselves. I am so glad I stayed here on my first visit to Greece, thank you so much to the Koala team you are fabulous.

Fabulous Koala

Remember this is a two star hotel, so it's not corporate brand new, things are a little tired, but everything important is bang on and the staff are absolutely lovely.
So rooms - quite small, but with TV (no UK chanels) take a firestick, fridge, hair dryer, aircon and ensuite, they have everything you need, no kettle tho.
Beds are comfy, everything is clean and tidy, and kept so by daily housekeeping.
I only have one minor complaint, the shower curtain is very unusual - it hooks on swinging arms to encompass the two open sides and you get extreme cling, which means a lot of water on the floor if you're not careful. The public areas of the hotel including the pool and sunbeds, bar and lounge, outside terrace are all very nice and modern and clean. The breakfast buffet is basic continental, everything was nice and fresh and kept topped up, but if you like a substantial breakfast you might wanna eat out.
Let's get to the staff, this is a family run hotel and all the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful, always happy to book us a taxi and help with anything.
Finally location - I was very happy to be near the marina rather than the very busy and lively harbour, it's a 15min walk or so to the harbour and Kos town, or a 7 euro taxi ride, it's a nice walk along the seafront with restaurants and supermarkets to keep you supplied.
