64 reviewsI stayed here for one night only, but had a pleasant time and ate extremely well. There's a fair few rooms in this Gasthof and they are of different styles - mine was in the newly built section and I found it extremely well appointed for what I had paid. Note this is the Bodensee region, so prices are higher generally than other rural areas of Germany. I arrived a little earlier than the official check-in time and was a bit disappointed to see that they had Ruhigzeit (quiet-period) between 1500 and 1700 which meant I wasn't able to dump my bags or freshen up before heading off on my bike. Nevertheless, upon returning after several hours cycling I was given a nice welcome and shown to my room. As by now it was nearly 9PM I went straight for dinner after showering in the (very nice and spacious) bathroom. I was hungry, and it's fair to say the food albeit on the pricey side was excellent, and the service matched. Lots of people seem to share this opinion as it was busy, but the service was not slow as a result. The room itself was very comfortable, cool and fresh despite the outside temperature (no Aircon btw) and I had a twin rather than the originally booked single. Lots of white, grey and green so not at all country twee, very country contemporary...! Breakfast was equally good with a wide selection. This location is very quiet, and by car about 15-20 minutes from the Bodensee shore, or a little further to Uberlingen - it's therefore a few notches cheaper than directly on the lake. One advantage is that there are no traffic jams inland, although to cycle to the lake you do need to be prepared to go over a few hills. Good restaurant, modern rooms, location fine.
