Nice small family hotel in the middle of town, good breakfast and close to the harbour. the hotel had everything you could ask for to be 3 stars. All signs and information were only in German. The pillow on the bed was very soft and thin, we asked for two extra pillows. But we got a blanket instead. :) Otherwise everything was good.

Nice small family hotel

My wife and I stayed here for four nights while we attended a local competition.  Although we had a 'standard' room we found it to be more than adequate, very comfortable and, along with the rest of the property, immaculately clean. There's no tea/coffee-making facility in the rooms but there is a large solarium type of thing at the rear of the property where complimentary tea & coffee are available.  Breakfast is comprehensive including fruit, yoghurt, cereals, cheeses, cold meats, a huge range of bread and rolls and scrambled eggs and bacon & sausages to top it off. Andreas and his family are wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them.  The hotel is ideally positioned for a number of restaurants in the area and just a two minute walk from the promenade and all it has to offer. A great place to stay.

A little gem

We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Soldwisch as part of a larger group visiting Travemunde for a sports tournament and we were all totally impressed with the establishment. Comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, friendly staff who knew what they were doing. Everything in the room was well fitted and worked properly. It was always warm despite the very cold weather outside. Tea and coffee in-room might have been a small improvement.

Best small hotel we've visited in ages.

We were having to spend a night in Travemunde and the very difficult to find information recommended this hotel. Once you have located it, you will be very happy in this very well run hotel. The family operated hotel is in a park like setting away from the busy main street, yet close enough to the city centre to walk in a few minutes to the quay where all the action is.
The original pieces of art hanging throughout the halls and rooms are very tasteful, as are the room arrangements. Very comfortable beds with great duvets make for a peaceful night, and if you like to have your windows open at night as we do, you'll find only the birds and the occasional church bell breaking the silence. The breakfast buffet was very complete with not only fresh fruit salad, but also freshly cut strawberries. Smoked salmon and other fish dishes brings this buffet above the rest, and of course the other usual breakfast items are not missing. For North American tastes there is even beacon, sausages and eggs. 
All in all, we had a very delightful stay and highly recommend this establishment.

Hidden Gem

This is a complex of several buildings with apartements and rooms. The breakfast service is adequate if a little too small. Strange is the fact that there is a parking fee of 3 Euro per day. 
Can be recommended.

Great location, friendly service

This was a great place to stay in a fun little town on the coast. We had been in Germany, in the rain, for a month when we got here. The sun decided to shine. So we had two great days on the beach. 
The hotel is so easy to find from the train station, about a one minute walk (you cut through the back parking lot). They have parking if you have a car. The owners were so gracious to us. We arrived early in the morning and were ushered into a suite! I was expecting just a normal double room, but this had like an entryway, with the bathroom off that, and a huge room with a giant bed. Lots of walking around room... after a month in normal European rooms, we felt like we very small in a huge room. We were on the ground floor, with a patio looking out onto a grassy park area. The owner was very interested in us because as far as I could figure, we were the first American guests they have had. We had a great time talking with him and his wife, and they were interested in the photos we had on our iPad about our home. (They speak German, by the way, we did not use English at all on this part of our trip. But don't let that put you off - you can always use google translate to communicate, as they have good WiFi here.) 
We were given towels for the beach, and water to take. The breakfasts were wonderful, and the sitting area was really a nice place to hang out. 
This town seems to be a resort for Swedes, Finns, Germans and Danes; we were asked many times if we were Swedish, and people were very surprised we were from California. This was just a wonderful place to stay in a very cool, sort of out of the way town.
This hotel is not right on the beach, nor does it have a view of the water. It did not bother us at all. It is like one block off the river/harbour, and about 10 minutes walk down that waterfront area to the beach. Very quiet neighbourhood.
