51 reviewsI stayed at The Excelsior in Bochum during a group trip for four days and I must say I was pleasantly surprised for a 3 star hotel. When I saw it from the outside I didn't expect much, but the inside was a totally different story. Everything was very neat and tidy, the rooms were very clean and simply but nicely furnished. Since the hotel only has two floors (our room was at sub-level) you can't count on a good view if that's what you're after. Location of the hotel is very good, took us maybe 10 minutes on foot to the city center, and there's also a subway station nearby. For me one small drawback is not having key cards for the room doors, I always like to take an extra card when I'm sharing the room with someone. We ate only breakfasts in the hotel and the food was very good. Since we had our expenses covered I don't know about the price, but I heard it was very reasonable. All in all I'd definitely recommend it.
