Our family (3 adults and 3 children) recently stayed at the Pension am Kirschberg on a trip where we visited both Dresden and Koenigstein.  My mother stayed there on a previous trip in 2017 and enjoyed it so much, we booked it for 2018!  I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience.  The pension building was constructed to serve as a B&B, so the layout and amenities are organized specifically for the comfort of guests.  The location is about 15 minutes outside downtown Dresden in a single family home-type neighborhood.  After turning onto the lane where the pension is located, there were about 10 reserved parking spaces on the property, so that was no problem whatsoever.  We were greeted personally by the owner at check-in, and given our keys.  We had one room with a queen-size bed (bathroom ensuite) and our second room had 4 twin beds (bathroom ensuite).  Since it has been a particularly hot summer in Europe, we were provided with fans in our rooms and - along with the windows propped open - the temperature was very comfortable.  Linens, amenities, and furnishing were perfect for our needs.  The breakfast in the morning was amazing - and very affordable!  Many of the featured items were from the orchard or garden at the property.  Fresh, delicious, and plentiful.  Outside the building is a large patio area with tables, chairs and loungers, so families can enjoy fresh air (and beverages) long into the evenings.  For the convenience of guests, there is a "self-serve" cooler inside that is stocked with beers, waters, and soft drinks - we just told the owner what we took out and it was added to our bill at check-out.  When we return to Dresden, we will definitely stay there again!

Lovely B&B outside Dresden

Our family were very happy that we had chosen this pension for an overnight stay. We would be happy to stay at this place again. Everything was absolutely perfect beginning with check-in and finishing with breakfast.

good choice

This is one of the best hotels I've ever visited. The atmosphere this hotel puts off is one that is certain to make you feel welcomed and at home. When I arrived I was greeted warmly and with respect. The breakfast was traditional, delicious and plentiful. The building itself is well maintained, clean, and modern. The best part is the location; the hotel is just outside the city of Dresden within driving distance.

Rustic from outside, modern and clean inside.
The breakfast is optional for 6EUR.
Free wi-fi at the hotel ,though the signal is weak at the rooms far from lobby.
The arrival is before 20.00, but we called in advance and were allowed to arrive at 21.00.
The staff is very nice and helpful.
The parking is free and the drive to Dresden center is very short.

Nice hotel near Dresden

I stayed there for one night with a German friend in September 2013. A bit tricky to find, even with GPS, but when you do get there it is just so beautiful. I feel that I would like to stay there for a few days, just to soak up the wonderful atmosphere and surroundings and the hospitality of Familie Brauer who runs it. Truly a wonderful country experience and yet close to Dresden.,

Rooms are basic but very nice and very clean. Bed is good, BUT be warned, the pillows are absolutely awful. I think they are feather, and as soon as you put your head on them, they spring up around your ears and give absolutely no head lift and support at all. We were only there the one night, so I do not know if Mrs Brauer has other types of pillows available. 
One other word of warning, the road noise from a nearby highway goes on all night, in fact 24/7 and this Pension does not have double glazing to shut out the noise.
Dinner is not served, Mrs Brauer will direct you where to go in a nearby village.We went there and found a Hotel with tables outside and enjoyed a really very nice meal and wine at very reasonable prices.
Had breakfast at the Pension the next morning. Very good selection and beautiful freah eggs from their own hens.I really do recommend this as a good place to stay, with a lovely country atmosphere and good food nearby. Prices are quite reasonable, including drinks from the self serv fridge in the foyer. Remember to ask for firm pillows if you do not like the feather variety, and a pair of er plugs would help considerably with the noise from that nearby highway.
Overall, I would rate this place 7.5 to 8 out of 10.
