This place is magic. If you wish to escape from everyday life and reach for a calm place with amazing see view you should be there. Room is fantastic and cosy, we felt like home . It is a nice place to be if you want to visit Normandy .

A little Paradise

We raced against time to arrive at the  before reception closed for the evening.  Made it!  Oops, not quite.  Handing us our key, she said, "You have about another five minute drive to get to your apartment."  We were exhausted when we finally arrived in the pitch dark, dragging out bags up the stairs into what appeared to be a luxurious apartment.  Too tired to explore, we went to bed.  And then the sun came up.  And the view out of the picture window onto the shores of Normandy also came up.  To our left was Gold Beach.  And straight ahead were the remains of the artificial jetty named after Churchill where the Allies offload millions of tons of material and soldiers.  Right there.  In front of us.  There was a part of us that couldn't square the luxury of this apartment with the suffering that had taken place there and just a few miles up the coast.  If you want to have a direct connection to history, do give this a try.  While not the easiest to get to, if you are driving and want a once-in-a-lifetime experience, this is highly recommended.  It comes with a kitchen that would make a gourmet envious.

Is it the view? The room? The history?  It is all these and more.

We recently stayed at the cottage and were really pleased as we felt like it was the best of both worlds. The cottage with private garden was quiet like you were I the countryside but a little path took you direct to the beach.

Well equipped for family and very relaxed.

Many visits to 3 of the gites during spring 2009 - 2017

A perfect place for families.  3 girls, one MiL, wife & I had plenty of space in this well decorated perfectly situated apartment overlooking the beach.  Asnelle was quaint with an accommodating small grocery store & fresh fish sold off the beach.  Perfect.  Would gladly return.  Managed by the famous La Ferme de Raconnier.

The apartment is clean and convenient to many Normandy attractions. It has most of the basics needed for small meal prep -no knives, only 1 large bread knife.  The 2 bedroom units have only one bathroom which is a bit inconvenient.  The only restaurant in Asnelles leaves much to be desired, but Arronmanches is very near.  It has several basic restaurants and a small grocery store.  You are on the beach but have no opening windows in the sitting room.  It gets quite hot in the afternoons.  The bedrooms do have opening windows, but the flies and moths come in.  There is no service and you must do basic cleaning before leaving.
