Le Schaeferhof

Le Schaeferhof is an exquisite B&B that is a vacation destination in and of itself. We enjoyed three relaxing nights at this beautiful bed & breakfast, which involved restful sleep, pampering accommodations, delicious organic breakfasts, and generous hospitality offered by hosts, Sylvie & Gerard. Sylvie has a fine eye for detail in every aspect of offering luxurious accommodations to her guests. This house is one of the most beautifully decorated B&B’s, along with lush gardens, we have ever visited and very classically French. It is well-maintained, quiet, and very clean. The breakfasts also are very high quality with multiple courses, delicious cheeses, expertly prepared omelets, delicious hams, homemade jams, pastries, some of the best breads, fresh juices, fruits, homemade dessert. All organic and very fresh. Each day Sylvie went out of her way to help us with our itineraries for the day. She assisted us with finding wonderful dining experiences nearby, along with the best that the surrounding wine villages have to offer. We obtained some our best sleep while here among our many stops on this European road trip (Alsace, Black Forest, Appenzell). We always looked forward to returning to this restful spot at the end of our day. The sauna and outdoor spa helped us to relax, and each time we utilized these amenities, we had them completely to ourselves. The room that we stayed in was spacious, clean, quiet, and included table/sitting area for enjoying snacks and plotting our day trips for the next day. Murbach Abbey also is nearby and offers a beautiful spot for hiking, the grounds which we explored in the morning before breakfast. We will definitely be going back to visit again and cannot wait to return. If you decide to stay here, you will not be disappointed. Also, all of this is offered for a very excellent value. The photos on their website are an accurate representation of what is offered but, as in most cases with photographs, the photos do not do this place justice.
