This place consisted of two houses. Beds were OK, sleep was good. Some details felt little bit weary but generally OK. Some rooms were not private and one corridor was transformed into a toilet, having two doors in either side -- very interesting, but seems to be flexible and more cosy for bigger groups. In the second house there were different amenities like microwave, roaster, fridge plus more elementary things. That house was also very nice inside. Food was very good, tables nicely prepared and nice music was playing. There was even possible to "kiik" in the eating room (for children). There is a shop very close and an interesting historical house which is currently used as a school. Very kind housewife who prepared the food.

We came on the island without having pre-booked a room. First Guesthouse we found was Allika. When we first came inside, we where really impressed and touched. Unless the house was nearly full of people, they managed to offer us a room within 20 minutes. What we got was much more than we expected: a cozy little two-bed room in 1st floor, tasteful equipped with a mixture of old furniture. The same is the whole house: old furniture, lots of cozy things, everything absolutely lovely! 
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We felt like at home from the first moment. The atmosphere is really familiar. 
There is a shared bathroom which includes the toilet, this can sometimes be tricky to manage ;-)
The breakfast was fresh made by the owners, tasteful every day, different every day.
A great place to stay, highly recommended! 
We will come back!

magical, nostalgic place to relax

The 'Guesthouse' is not as remote as it seems and is surrounded by a few industrial and ugly buildings. This is overall poor value for money as you have to share bathroom and toilets.  
Be aware that breakfast comes on top of price at a cost (for us) of £10 per head even children. 
The owners are polite yet not really friendly or making you feel welcome.

Disappointing

This 'Guesthouse' or 'Hostel' (they bill themselves both ways) is a lovely on the outside, converted girls school/ dorm.  What you don't know until you get there is that it sits next to some very ugly, large bldgs left over from the Soviet Occupation Era.  The guesthouse itself is spacious, as was our room, for that part of the world.  It has solid furniture in the room mixed with antiques in the common rooms and serves a sound brkft, as part of the price.  The owners bill the place as being 'cozy.'  In reality, it is a dark, unventilated place that gets quite stuffy.  The owners impersonal demeanor actually crosses over to the unfriendly and impolite at times.  This is their 2nd home and 2nd job (summer time only).  It shows that it is not 1st and foremost with them; their hearts are into doing something else.  We came to find out that there are actually many guesthouses/ accommodations on Hiiumaa, especially around Kardla and Kiana.  I strongly urge a traveller to consider seeking out one of those options instead.
