Proprietors were quite helpful to change my room to one a (small) bit nicer. The first one had a bathroom that needs an upgrade. Tiles were cracked etc. The new room was nicer but I still found some sort of crawling centipede type insects in the tub in the morning. I learned to overlook them. Not having 24-hour reception staff is a bit awkward also. On Sunday afternoon as I was walking out she said (politely I would add) that no one would be there to let me back in until 4 or 5. As I knew I had plans and wanted to accommodate her desire for family time I readily agreed to 5. I realize I didn't pay much for this room but I still think they should begin funneling some of the profit back into the business.

Not Great but Alright for the Money You Pay

We spent one night here before joining a group tour to the Galapagos and booked a room online mainly due to price. 

We weren't expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised.  Yes, the place is a little dated, but the rooms were spacious and clean, the hot water was ample and the shower strength really great, the staff were really friendly and courteous and the breakfast was fantastic. What more can you ask for when spending $40 a night? 

The one slight criticism was that the wifi didn't stretch to our room at the back of the property. Oddly it allowed you to find the wifi, but kept telling you the password was wrong. If you stepped outside the room into the rear courtyard it worked perfectly. Just a minor thing, but worth noting.  The wifi strength was excellent in this area though, one of the best we experienced in Ecuador. 

The owners have a lovely Cocker Spaniel puppy called Spanky, which sealed the deal for us.

Faultless for the price you pay!

Hotel Joremis is a charming family run hotel. Sylvia, the owner, and her daughter, Renata, speak English, and were very helpful and informative. Our room (number 4) was quiet, clean, had comfortable beds, lots of hot water with good pressure, and was overlooking the interior courtyard. As one other reviewer mentioned, the bathroom looked a bit rough, but was spotlessly clean. The included breakfast included eggs, fresh fruit juice, cheese, ham and croissant, and as much fresh coffee as you want :) Each day breakfast was very good. We took advantage of the offered shuttle to the Mitad del Mundo ($40), and the airport ($35). Sylvia's husband drove us, and the equator visit also included a stop to Volcan  Pululahua. Located in the Mariscal district; there are many great restaurants nearby, and the Centro Historical is a short $2 taxi ride away. For our 4 nights in Quito, Hotel Joremis was a good choice!

Good budget hotel in the Mariscal District

Chose this place from booking.com. We had a nice quiet room which looked a little dated, but it is Ecuador. Breakfast was good, with eggs and fruit. The bathroom looks a little sketchy, but it is cleaned twice a day. And, unusually for Ecuador, the wifi was fantastic (in the room as well) and the hot water is gloriously hot! Pretty close to the Mariscal area, but a 30 minute walk (or 10 minute bus) to the Centro Historico

Good budget hotel

This is a hotel where you want to stay if either travelling solo or for business and want to be close to Mariscal area....the hotel itself is ok, there where some bugs, most likely fleas on my room....the owner tried and did skip me of my breakfast........

i will stay here again when traveling to quito solo or on a budget
