We had a lovely time at Physis. The most relevant aspect for us was the fact that we were contacted by the hotel staff before our arrival, a watsap was created for us and we coild easily communicate. Julliet was very welcoming and shared with us important transport contacts and recomendations for the area, this made our life much easier. Cristina (if that is the name) was also very polite and caring.

My friend and I booked a room at Physis Caribbean very last minute and Juliet kindly accommodated us with an early check-in. Once we walked into the bed & breakfast, we knew we were going to love staying there. The ambiance was private, refreshing, relaxing and peaceful. 

We loved the location in Cocles as we wanted to stay out of the Puerto Viejo city center. We felt very safe in the property and the surrounding area! Juliet was amazing and super helpful with recommendations around the beach. Shirley, who also worked at the property, was very sweet and helpful as well.

I would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to my friends and family. Perfect for solo travelers as well.

A Must Stay!

Where to start? My husband and I stayed in four different lodgings during our trip, and I had saved a different one for our trip to Cahuita/Puerto Viejo/Cocles. He kept repeating that this one got lots of good reviews, so I relented. I’m glad, because our stay was amazing! (And we ended up staying in two I found and two he found!)

We did not get to meet Matt and Juliet who were on their own well deserved getaway. Their friends Sarah and Caleb filled in and did a great job! Sarah is so outgoing, easy going, and friendly. She reminds me of someone and I’m still trying to think of whom. She was available via WhatsApp and boy did I take advantage of that! It was ridiculous how many questions I had but she was always very gracious in responding.

The daily breakfast was so beautiful and delicious! (See pictures) We had four options and I thought I’d change it up but had the eggs over easy with toast and fruit all three mornings. My husband had the French toast the first day, and pancakes the next two, both with fruit. Christina and Shirley who helped with breakfast and room service were very friendly.

We stayed in room #1, and it was all we needed. There is the bed, desk, counter and spacious area between. There is a safe accessible with a key attached to your room key. The private bath with shower has a small area to hang clothes and the refrigerator is in it. Always important in tropical heat and humidity: air conditioning! There is also a dehumidifier. Oh, and a TV with satellite access. (I wish I had taken pics of everything)

We didn’t have a rental car and navigated around  just fine. It was easy to take the city bus (stop was just across the main road) and tuk tuk. There are taxi services but we didn’t end up taking them.

We highly recommend and would stay again if in the area and there is availability!

A Real B&B. So Wonderful!

Great location and a beautiful air bnb. Matthew and Juliet were wonderful hosts and helped me coordinate guides, transportation and local restaurants. Highly recommended whether you’re a solo, couple or group. Really enjoyed my stay there.

6 Nights on the Caribbean side in Playa Cocles

This Bed and Breakfast is fantastic! Sparkling clean and beautiful. The owners are super nice and welcoming. The location is perfect- close to restaurants, stores and the beach. and the Pancakes! WOW!! Best I’ve ever had. The only bad part was that I couldn’t stay longer. :) Just book it! You won’t be sorry.

My wife and I stayed at Physis. This place is a little paradise, the hosts are super nice, the decor reminded us of Bali. The place is very well maintained, clean and friendly. Thank you Matthew and Juliet, we hope to return one day. -Lily and Dan

Excellent experience at Physis

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The property is beautiful and well maintained.   It was walking distance from the beach and several restaurants but away from the street noise.  Juliet and Matt were wondering hosts preparing delicious breakfasts and offering great local knowledge.  We look forward to our next visit. 

Beautiful property with great hosts

Loved everything.   Location,  facility, hosts, breakfast.  Pancakes 11 out of 10!.So helpful arranging passport run to Panama.....bocus del Toro.   Fantastic!!
