Just what we (mom with two teen daughters) were looking for! A great combination of nature and comfort. We were never disappointed each morning walking to breakfast as we saw butterflies, sloths, hummingbirds, frogs, agouti, and heard monkeys and toucans. Breakfast was delicious- a nice mix of healthy with sweet treats. The made to order eggs each morning were a nice addition. The pool area and retire resort were kept very clean. Absolutely beautiful property! The daily specials at the restaurant and bar area took the sting out of the higher prices. But we enjoyed the appetizers and pizzas. We stayed in jungle bungalow 45 towards the back of the property. It was like a nature walked each time we left.
 our bungalow. Our bungalow was very comfortable, but the bathroom was a bit rustic. This property was several minutes from town by tuk tuk ride. But walking distance to many good restaurants. Easy access to the beach. We will definitely return!

Fantastic property!

We live in Costa Rica and this was our third stay at Cariblue, with the 4th booked for September 2024.  Excellent facility, very quiet, and the best staff we have ever encountered.  The last two times we have stayed in a King Bungalow and that is our vacation niche!  We find the food to be excellent.

An excellent introduction to Costa Rica

We have lived in Costa Rica for ten years and have travelled to various areas of the country.  We just returned from CariBlue and it is the best stay that we have had anywhere.  There are a number of reasons, but when you combine them all it makes CariBlue stand out.
The staff is the best that we have seen anywhere in Costa Rica.  They were attentive, polite, and friendly.  In five days we were on a first name basis with many of them and they knew us and spoke to us by name.
The location is excellent and the accommodations were very clean and well maintained.  We stayed in a Superior King Room which was quite secluded.  We were on the top floor so that entailed 17 stairs to get up and down.  We have booked a return week at the beginning of February and have booked a King Bungalow which only has three stairs, better for old knees.  We were able to have a look at one of the two King Bungalows while we were there and it looks awesome!  Very secluded and private.  The other rooms are well spread out and fairly private. 
Parking is excellent and guarded.  There is only one gated entrance and it is manned.
The food was fabulous! I am a picky eater and I was unable to try everything that I wanted on the menu in our five day stay.
There is an attached Sushi establishment that is right next to CariBlue and they offer a 15% discount for CariBlue guests.  They also offer access to the beach and have tables on the beach.  Each table has a red call button that you can use for food or the afternoon 2/1 drinks!
We saw an abundance of Sloths and Watusas.

A Place to return to

Very friendly resort. Nice lodge with airco and fridge. Close to the beach. Restaurant is perfect, other restaurant are close by. Pool is nice with poolbar. Music is there, everything you need. Nice staff.

Simply the best hotel to stay at Puerto Viejo, Limon!

Located at Cocles, just in the middle of everything you need. They have a great breakfast buffett, very complete. The staff is really friendly and helpful.

The spa has several offers, both massages and wellness treatments and the hostess makes everything smooth.

The jungle style is amazing, you can see sloths, a lot of birds among others.

Also you can rent bikes directly at the lobby and go to manzanillo, cahuita, punta uva etc, plus they also offer guided tours.

Location is everything: They’re Walking distance to nice restaurants and if you want to stay for dinner at the hotel the offer and quality is great… and they’re in front of the beach 🌴

Bottom line, don’t hesitate to book your stay here, you will get a really good rest and relaxation.

The best hotel in Puerto Viejo

Great jungle resort with amazing beach across the street.  There are several restaurants in walking distance and surf school options across the street.  We were really impressed, the food at the resort was great and there is a ton of wildlife on the property.

Incredible adventure…we loved this place!!!

What a great hidden gem! We moved to this resort when our prior hotel did not meet our expectations and wish we had booked this one from the start. Great rooms (undergoing renovations but not too disruptive), our room was complete and was clean and nice. Great pool with food and drink service and swim up pool bar. You can also walk to the beach through the resort which was a plus. We eat at the restaurant both nights and we’re very happy with the food choices and the quality of the food. We met a lot of people there and everyone was so friendly. Would recommend and stay here again for sure.

Great resort!

We really enjoyed our stay! The staff are consistently friendly and helpful. We had a bungalow which was private, charming in a rustic way, nice sized,  very  clean and very comfortable. The bed was comfortable.  There was ac which was a life saver with the humidity. Loved the fresh water pool , jacuzzi and swim up bar. 
The food in the restaurant was consistently  very  good and well prepared. Loved the Peruvian ceviche and tuna on sweet mash!  Excellent breakfasts as well. Also good selection of craft beers.
Definitely recommend.

Pura vida

What a fabulous resort and one which exceeded my expectations in every way! 

We were unlucky with the weather during our stay and had unfortunately only booked one night, but it was our favourite place during our entire stay in Costa Rica. The heavy rain caused a few issues whilst we were there (eg the WiFi went down/entrance was flooded) but the reception team were always good humoured, helpful and friendly. There was a small communication mix up with one staff member and booking a taxi which never turned up meaning we missed a tour at the local wildlife sanctuary. It is really important to clarify exactly what you want, especially if you don’t speak much Spanish! However I would like to give a special shout out to Alfonso and Lilian for helping us fix the problem as well as organising a tour to the sloth sanctuary and a taxi to another area in Costa Rica. 

The wildlife we saw during our time in the hotel was actually better than that in some of the national parks we visited! It was a pleasure to wander round the grounds early in the morning and see green and black dart frogs, agoutis and exotic birds/butterflies. Unfortunately the weather was too bad for us to use the pools/wet bar but they looked great! 

The room was nice, lovely bed and decór. We enjoyed the hammock on the patio. It is “rustic” and bug spray is a must! The resort has extra things going on including yoga and live music and you could easily spend several nights without getting bored. It has a really nice feel to it. It is in a good location close to both puerto viejo and punta uva (two places we wanted to visit). My biggest regret is not booking here for longer!
