Cocles it was amazing.. my family really loves this place. Ariel ans his crew it was amazing. This place is highly recommended. The beach is really close and also we did surfing lessons. This is the place to do it in the area

Best place

We booked this hostel via Air B and B, which sold a completely different version of the hostel we showed up to. Firstly, once we arrived we were shown our room, but given no key (more on that later) and when we asked if they had a drinking water stand, the owner just said no, that he drinks from the tap, because his body can handle it.... ok....!  The bathroom was absolutely filthy with overflowing garbage can, and the toilet was covered in urine, s*** and lots of ants! And weirdly the bathroom had no sink, this was strewed on the floor across the landing, but who knows when it was likely to be installed...The shower had a couple of extra guests, 2 big fat cockroaches, and despite the hostel proudly advising it had hot water, it didn’t. Ever. The next day the shower didn’t work and this happened three more times.  We were locked out our first full day, and was told that we needed to use our key???? We were never given a key, and this was a major concern of ours, as the rooms provided no lockers to store our valuables, and several times that morning when attempting to sleep other hostel guests just kept barging into our room. Why? I have no idea, but not cool.  Once we decided to address our issues to the owner, he became extremely confrontational (truth hurts I suppose) and long story short he told us we complained too much and asked us to leave (one night early) which quite honestly was the best outcome as we will be demanding a refund for all three nights we had booked.  The hostel is a s*** heap and is filthy beyond words. The owner seemed more concerned with hanging out with his mates than doing any actual working on his business, which is a shame as you can see the place has a lot of potential. But his attitude and the hostel stank. End of. Stay there at your own risk.

The rooms are very cosy, i loved the location in front of the beach, I could hear the sound of the ocean from my room at night, my stay there was very relaxing. 
It's located  a few minutes driving from Puerto viejo down town  (if you go by public transport there is a bus stop just next to the property however there scheduled it's limited)

I stayed at Casa Club Dub with three of my closest friends and we could not have chosen a better spot for our 10-day vacation. The hostel is in an ideal location right outside of the main town of Puerto Viejo and the walk into town is beautiful. It is situated directly across the street from one of the most incredible beaches in the world. My friends and I were amazed at how welcoming Hannah and Ariel, the owners, were. Hannah showed us around here slice of paradise and even drove us into town one night when it was pouring rain. Cannot recommend enough!

This place is a gem! We got in way later than expected and the owner, Hannah, was very accommodating. She waited up to show us around really quick. The location is right across a beach with easy access (difficult to find in the area).  There's a bar/restaurant attached called reggae chill. They have 2 for 1 happy hour all day. We got a private room with a bathroom that had 2 small beds and a queen. The shower had only cold water, but that's perfect after a long hot day at the beach (also comparable locations that have hot water also have scary showers that look dangerous). There is also a dorm room on the property. It's about a 30 minute walk into the main town, but it's also a nice quiet location. Would definitely stay again for some relaxing by the beach.

This beach house has everything and more. You literally cant get any closer to the beach, seriously. The owners are super friendly and will assist you with your questions at any time. The kitchen is big and has everything you need for cooking, there is a restaurant on site that serves food and ice cold beers, bicycles for rent and they even offer tours and surf lessons. They just have everything! (And puppies). 
There is a supermarket at walking distance so are many of the beautiful beaches. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to central puerto viejo, and if you dont want to walk you can always catch a taxi or a tuktuk for a cheap price. You will regret that you didnt stay here if you are ever to visit puerto viejo.
