We stayed here in order to be close to a friend who lives nearby. I expected less from the reviews but it is a very decent place. Yes it needs some renovation but the staff were friendly, the room was very clean and the bed comfortable so we felt it was a good value for the price, especially as we have just come off a group tour where we stayed at some very upscale hotels that were really not much better than this. Our room was cramped with a king bed, if you don't need the king get just a double. It is the one place we have stayed in China that did not provide a robe and slippers but who wants to pay for those? Do not expect a fancy new place and you will not be disappointed.
