My husband and I stayed here as an add on to a trip further away. We had an emergency and had to cancel the remaining part of the trip but missed the cancel time. I hate to waste money so we went anyways. 

TMI WARNING!!
We live roughly 6.5 hours from Quebec City. We drove this with a stop or two. I am of the belief that I will wait until almost doomsday if it means I don’t use a public toilet. That is me, heavily into the, yuck no thanks, category. Well old me is now on strong medications for a non communicable, my body hates me, condition. These medications go from zero to run in my GI tract and after roughly 7 hours in the car we arrived to the hotel. I was feeling ill and tired and really needed to get to the room. 

The nice girl at the desk reminded me of the 3:00 check in time. It was currently 2:46 or so. I asked her if an early check is was not possible then told her I would wait outside about 10 more minutes. 

After the longest 10 minutes we checked in and I found the room had a heated bidet, SCORE! 

Otherwise, it’s a lovely hotel in a very nice spot. Bed was quite hard in room 222 and our room didn’t have towels when we checked in. They brought us a few and that was fine. The mini toiletries were missed in the clean up, they were not full. I’m a bit of a clean freak and saw nothing that concerned me. Seemed nice and clean. Broken curtains should be replaced for full coverage since people below can see in the room.  No elevator, quite steep stairs so be ready to climb if on the top floor like we were. One nitpick would be the mini split was confusing to run for us as we are not familiar with them. Didn’t figure out the ac properly until we were leaving. 

Requested a late check out of 1:00, usual time is 11:00am. They said no to 1 but yes to noon. 

Would definitely stay again in spite of the mini emergency and little missed things. 

Great close area right outside where you want to see, if it’s Old Quebec. :!

Emergency Averted!

Very warm and welcoming personnel. I loved the cleanliness of the room. The great location with a nearby parking lot is really appreciated, you can access many good restaurants and places in walking distance. 

Outstanding Services 

This little hotel is well located, just at the door of old Quebec city and 5 minute walk to the train station. You must check in at the hotel across the street which went without issue.

The room was nice and comfortable. It's in an older building, so yes you could hear the outside and other noises but nothing that kept me up. Very nice touch with coffee machine, mini fridges, nice glasses and linen. 

Note that there is NO elevators so not recommended for people with mobility issues. 

I will definitely stay here again.

Cute little charming hotel

The room was lovely - quite big and high ceiling. All facilities were clean and it is very central. Beware, however, the hotel sits above a very noisy tavern. Speakers outside the tavern play music until asked to turn off, and they have a licence to play music inside until 3am. It may not bother you if you want to stay out late, but it is very difficult to sleep with the bass and drums quite audible in most of the rooms. I couldn’t recommend it. 

Charming, but very noisy

Despite the staff was charming and the great emplacement, the place was not so clean. At night time, our nightmare began when 
guests of two other rooms screamed, spoke loudly, slammed the doors in the middle of the night, and no staff was on hand to intervene. The hotel is located on the second floor of a bar and frankly, it was not the cause of our insomnia. Do not take room 111 which is located near the stairs, the comings and goings resound in the walls against the bed.It was our first and last time there.

Loud and not so clean

Vieux Quebec has some older hotel properties but this one was pretty good.  It's closer to the port but still within great walking distance within the old city.  It's maybe a 20 minute walk to Chateau Frontenac. It has a small patio out front and a pub/restaurant on the other side of the hotel.. it's on a corner with views of the port. Spacious room, clean and somewhat modern decor.  Bathroom was a good size.  No elevator so u have to lug your suitcase up the stairs yourself.  We really liked it. Close to many shops and restaurants.

Pleasantly Surprised

Mostly enjoyed our stay. Check in is across street at Hotel Saint Paul. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, good size and reasonably priced. Exposed brick wall and hardwood floor added character Shower small but serviceable. Stairs steep but manageable; may be difficult for some elderly or individuals with certain health conditions.Bar downstairs must be open until 3AM. Nice night, people sitting outdoors. Not loud, just convesational voices and occasional laughs, but woke 3X between 1 and 3AM to sound of voices and laughter. Hadn't noticed bathroom window was slightly open until morning, which may have helped if it was closed. Parking is in nearby lot at reasonable price. 


Mostly enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I stayed here for one night in June 2017.  When we arrived after a short walk from the rain station in the rain, we looked for the sign saying, Hotel Belley.  We walked in, only to be told by a restaurant employee that hotel check-in is across the street in a different building.  So we walked across the street in the rain, looking for a sign saying "Hotel Belley Reception" or something similar, but there was no indication of where we should go.  So we went back and asked again, and the restaurant employee explained that the check-in for Hotel Belley is actually at the Hotel Saint Paul.  There is a sign for the Hotel Saint Paul.  We were able to check in.  Then, we could not find the door to the stairs leading to our room, because nobody told us how to get to the room.  When asked again and when we finally got to the room, we found an attractive room with an exposed brick wall and a mish-mash of modern furnishings that worked very nicely.  The hotel is on a busy street, but high-quality windows keep the noise out.  No complaints about the room.  It seemed appropriate for the price of $160 Canadian.  Then came time for check-out.  We walked across the street again to the hotel Saint Paul at 10:30am to check out, but nobody was there!  We waited 10 minutes, then came back to the building where the rooms are located and asked staff again, and they found the front desk employee that was supposed to be at the front desk, so we all went back to Hotel Saint Paul to check out.  We finally got it done.  When I saw my bank statement a few days later, it said I had paid my money to the Hotel Saint Paul.  Funny!  (as in stupid!).  I do not recommend this hotel.  It's confusing and dysfunctional in the way it is arranged physically, and in the way it is managed.  There is a lack of appropriate signs, a lack of spoken directions, and very poor service overall.  Cute spot, decent location, but totally aggravating and annoying.

Very poor arrival experience.  Very poor check-out experience.  Nice room.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at L'Hotel Belley this past week. We had a great time at the hotel, it is well-kept and walking distance to a great number of shops, restaurants and attractions.

We have been to Quebec City about 5 times in 5 years and we keep returning to this hotel because we really like the atmosphere and location that it offers.

This time we experienced a large snowfall (~30-40cm) and the city crews worked around the clock to ensure that the roads and sidewalks were in great shape the next day, which was important for us at the time because it was time to leave.
