This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I stayed one night of no sleep and left in early morning hours.
This place is very old and has not been updated nor aired our for a long time. It smells musty (due to mold). My room was even worse due to no air flow even after I opened the patio door outside. The bathroom seemed a bit cleaner than the room. The bed and bedding was old, uncomfortable but clean. There were stains of armchair and carpet. 
There were people terribly coughing all night long in the next rooms.  
The breakfast was rationed on trays outside of the room (an old croissant, fruit, jam). The staff came across very unfriendly, unwelcoming and had a hard time answering any questions. 
One good thing - location.

I stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend. On arrival I was greeted by someone who I assumed was the owner, and he wasn’t particularly friendly even though he was polite (and yes I did first greet him in French). It’s very much an old house style inside, quite nice for a bed & breakfast. It’s located within the old town walls, and only a short walk to the places of interest. There was also wifi which worked well most of the time.

I shared a twin room on the first floor (i.e. one above ground), and it was very large. The beds were more like small doubles, there was a sofa, and a table and chairs in the room. It wasn’t particularly luxurious, but it was perfectly nice and had a homely feel. The bathroom was fine also.

We had breakfast which was essentially left out on the landing for us to take and eat in our rooms, I’m not sure if the arrangement was due to covid or not. There was hot coffee and a fair number of continental breakfast items. I’d usually expect something warm from a bed and breakfast but it did the job.

Overall we had a nice stay and were comfortable enough, I also felt it was reasonably priced. If you’re looking for somewhere within the old city walls and don’t want to fork out for one of the larger hotels then this place is suitable.

Adequate B&B with central location

The Hotel la Maison Demers reminded me of my Grandmother's house- a bit outdated, but sweet.  Our bedroom was large, with 2 double beds, a small table and a sink.  The bathroom was right down the hall.  We appreciated being able to park our car a few blocks away and not have to worry about driving for the 2 days that we were in Old Quebec.  It was so convenient to be able to walk out our door, feel like we were in Europe and be able to walk everywhere.  We will definitely be back.

Like Grandma's house

Hotel was very well located, a kind of boutique hotel arranged in old and nice city mansion. The owner was very helpful, self-serviced continental breakfast was fresh and tasty.
The bathroom woul dneed some renovation, bu consideringt the price which we paid it was acceptable.

Large spacious room with 2 double beds, ac, fridge, kettle(but no tea, sugar), iron,ironing board, free toiletries. Cute rocking chair and a tiny seperate dressing room. Our room no 1 was on ground flr so we dint hv to climb as there is no lift. Location is amazing in old town, u can walk everywhere for sightseeing. Also shops, restaurants and mkts nearby. Station is very near. The owner is very helpful and sweet. For a one star hotel, he has gone out of his way to provide so many amenities at such a low price.

 · Very tiny bathroom. Very difficult for a tall person to sit on commode as miniscule leg space in front. There is no breakfast and no lift . But overall for that price, its amazing value

 


Value for money

we checked into the hotel on 9th Feb and the owner right away told me that he will tell me about the parking after seeing my luggage,which i heard for the first time..Next he gave us parking in some underground parking 2 streets away whereas the website says Parking Available which means its available but 2 streets away..Ridiculous!!!We had to walk back in the freezing cold..Horrible to say the least...Next he asked us to leave the shoes down which was ridiculous because it was so cold to not be wearing shoes to the room...Next when we asked him for the Wifi password he just Wifi is not working because too many people are using it..The website says FREE WIFI!!!So bloody annoying totally..He has been rude to us from the minute we came in from not even greeting us,teaching us how to use a key to the door which is so basic..Very offending totally..Room was good but all this just left a bad impression about the owner n his attitude..Will never recommend this hotel to anybody nor will i come back ever..Thanks

Bad Experience

When we arrived, the gentleman owner's first concern was where we were parked (currently in a no parking zone a few doors up, there is extremely little street parking in Old Que). He noted that we had a subcompact car and moved his motorcycle so we could take that parking spot, just steps from the door. We got a room on the 3rd floor. There is no air conditioning in the main building itself but our room had a window unit that was plenty for our room. We reserved a room with a shared bathroom but I never saw anyone else using it despite the fact that the place was at full capacity. While the stairs themselves were very creaky, the building is quite. I never heard any of the guests other than seeing 3, coming and going. I awoke before the owner but he was quick to put on coffee. There was fruit, yogurt, cheese, muffins and warm croissants laid out for guests. When it came time to check out, the owner was very helpful, opening doors for us. I would definitely stay there again.

Amazingly priced within the Walled City

My wife and I loved this place. We were staying in Old Quebec and it felt like we were in Old Quebec. 
The room we had was quite large and contained a small sofa and a table and chairs, as well as twin beds. There was no air conditioning, but there was a large ceiling fan and another large fan in the wardrobe, which we didn't need. There was also an iron and ironing board, an electric kettle and a flat screen TV. Although the owner seemed concerned about how many guests were using the wi-fi, it was fine during our stay.
Every morning, fresh coffee, warm, fresh croissants with jam and cream cheese, fruit, yoghurt and orange juice was left outside the rooms for a delightful breakfast.
Although the hall and stairs had the kind of smells you might expect in an old hotel, the room and bathroom were fine and were very clean. We are both non-smokers and didn't smell smoke anywhere.
You can walk to pretty much all the places you want to see in Old Quebec, although it should be mentioned that the hotel is on the hill, near to the citadel. There is a bus stop just around the corner, though.
We will definitely go back to La Maison Demers if we are in Quebec City again.

A lovely stay in Old Quebec

I had a very bad experience i arrived at eleven am door locked.
at one pm i rang the bell here comes this guy in a very bad mood, i was given the ground floor room. The room smelled bad the washroom was the smallest i ever saw you can't sit straight in the toilet.
The room had a door with glass and a curtain on the other room not on mine no lock, no privacy at all the guy can see me on my room. very bad stay away from this place.

We went for vacation in Quebec and stayed at this location for 3nights followed by another 1 night in between a day. owners kept and looked after our extra luggage at no extra fee. Breakfast was good especially the coffee. Very central hotel and very clean rooms
