Pleasant surprise of a large, clean, and well organized room on the main level. Shower had great water pressure as well. Never heard and sounds from other rooms, not even in the hall way. And parking was right in front of exterior door to the room

Went to Dauphin to visit my dad with all the kids , grandkids and a dog. We had no problems, the rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. I do not understand the poor reviews given as we were very pleased with the Hotel & will be going back again.

Went to the Canway Inn with my family of 12 people and a dog. Had a great time.

Its an older building with a degrading parking lot  but when we walked in it smelled clean. The carpets are old but looked clean and the bed looked very clean with a sheet below and also covering the duvet which we all know that motels do not clean every day. The water pressure was a little slow but it was clear. The first night i complained about garbage outside the building in the ashtray and they fixed this by the time we got back for the second night. WE didn't use the pool or the restaurant so i cant comment on that.
 Overall its a good value for the money.

Nothing fancy but clean and quiet. Room was pretty clean but dated. Beds were very comfortable but lacking an exhaust fan in the bathroom. Close to the mall and restaurants and other amenities, restaurant and lounge on site. 

Decent Hotel for a night or two

I was in Dauphin for a funeral and stayed 3 nights. My brother had his 9 year old daughter and he wanted a hotel with a pool so the Canway was the only option in town. Overall it was not the worst I have stayed in but it was not a classy place to say the least. We stayed in a suite that was extremely dated. The fridge was tiny and the lack of lighting made the room kind of dark. No fan in the bathroom was definitely unusual. The carpet and bed cover were stained however the sheets were clean and smelled freshly laundered. The best part about the stay was the pool, hot tub, sauna and restaurant. Overall I would stay again knowing the state of everything. Staff was friendly and the price was fair. It is located next to many restaurants, gas stations and the mall so no need to drive very far for any necessities you may need. 

Not the worst!

When we checked in they told us a price then later changed it adding in an additional 7.00 for each of my sons . Booking.com said 17and under were considered children but the hotel said 12 and under . We stayed for three nights and they only cleaned the room the first night . Did not change towels or facecloths even though we all showered the first day there . The room was 6 degrees when we checked in so needed to wear our jackets till it warmed up . Remote control didn’t work well . Was overpriced for what you get .

Woke up to find my reservation for Country Fest this july was cancelled. No explanation, told to call back Friday for a manager. I booked early in November.  There is nothing else available anywhere now. They apparantly told Booking.com that they are closing down during that period. 

 Feels like something shady is going on here.

Reservation got cancelled on me with no explanation or warning

The house keeper rummaged through my luggage and after reporting it to the front desk I was met with dismissal! He even went so far as to say "you should have left a do not disturb door knocker on the handle and they wouldn't have gone in my room."

Absolutely disgusting attitudes, and the rooms were in poor condition. Missing tiles on the walls, cracks and chunks of missing paint off the walls, holes in the ceiling in the hallway, and I had to put the smoke detector back on the wall! It was just hanging there. 

The wireless network is beyond terrible as well. Practically unusable if you could even connect to it, as well as completely unsecure. Yes there is a password on the wifi, but nothing to stop people from seeing all of the devices (such as your phones and laptops) or even seeing the routers themselves. Massive security flaws! 

The pool was crystal clear and ice cold. Which is fine. But the hot tub was a murky brownish green you couldn't actually see the bottom with any level of clarity. Plus the stench was enough to keep anybody out of it. 

About the only positive I can say is the bed itself was comfortable. I can't deny that. I will never return to this hotel ever again. Even though they have a sign up saying who the manager on duty was, all management was in Winnipeg and couldn't be bothered to speak with me in regards to the house keeper going through my personal belongings. 

Go to the Super 8 across the parking lot instead. Or any other place.

A notice to anybody thinking of staying at Canway inn and suites in Dauphin!

TheGood: 
- Fun pool
- soft mattresses downstairs
- we always had refills of bottled water
TheBad: 
-bad tile work
- white caulking everywhere
- 70’s-80’s decor 
- tiny Television
-  hair in the drain
- ran out of towels at the pool
TheUgly:
- coffee was crap
- stationary staples sticking out of the chair
- fake tile was peeling off the wall
-the poor fish in the lobby fish tank, no gravel, or plants. This tank needs a good cleaning and about 5 algae eaters.
Way over priced. Should be priced at $50-$60 a night. 
My first thoughts were “who will be the first to die?” And “look they have a shelf in the closet for us to put our snacks up their so the mice doesn’t get them”.

RUN RUN FAST AND FAR AWAY!

Normally I’m not one to write reviews good or bad. This hotel and staff were so bad it moved me to write one. I’ve included three photos of my room displaying how poorly maintained and dirty it was. From the empty hot tub in the swimming area, to bathroom tile coming off the wall to the stains on the Blankets and Carpeting to the smoke detector precariously hanging from the wall with wires hanging from it. I stayed two nights and will never stay again. On one of the evenings guests and their children decided to use the hallway as a party gathering place. Kids were banging off the walls and doors playing hockey adults were drinking and playing loud music. I called the front desk three times. First two times they did absolutely nothing about it. On the third call the staff member said what would you like us to do? If you’re not happy call the police or leave. The following morning I packed up as soon as possible NEVER to return again. In all my years this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and I have traveled in many Third World countries.
