Stuck here for 2nights due to all hwy. closure. Motel jacked up the price due to demand. Facilities were old and outdated. Beds were soft and lumpy. Didn't have a drain plug to take a bath. TV works off and on. Owner speaks marginal English.

Uncomfortable and expensive stay

In need of a total refit, my new had new laminate floor, new WC and hand basin.
But the bed was old, the pillows probably the same vintage.
Appeared pretty clean with only slight chemical smell.
It did have the worlds noisiest wall AC unit, but I guess in 1960 they didn’t care about that.
I only stayed because it was the last place with a vacancy and nobody knew why!
Arrive earlier and go somewhere else.

Arrived here after booking 2 months in advance to find sandbags around the property and the parking lot covered in silt and mud from flooding 2 days earlier. Apparently some rooms received water damage, mine was perfectly fine. Was told it was okay to park my car in front of my room, but after watching the water level of Cache Creek rise into the parking lot in the evening, I moved it to higher ground. In the morning, water levels had lowered and never made it near the building. The owners were friendly enough, but speak very little English. The room was certainly older, but there were some upgrades like a new carpet. The price was acceptable for what I got. Wifi worked fine. The room did smell quite strongly of cleaning products though. Overall, unfortunate flooding aside, my stay was okay.

Unfortunate Flooding

Hotel is aging but we only stayed overnight so not an issue with us. The room was clean. Hotel manager didn't say much but I suspect he didn't know much English. Dogs are welcome in the rooms. Didn't require an extra fee or deposit. Beds are very hard, made it hard to sleep.

The reason I tell you to pass by, was the discovery of feces on the outside of the toilet.
My husband always checks the room, and even talked to the owner about the room after he thought it smelled.
The owner said, that he had cleaned it himself.
WELL
He obviously missed something.
AND
He needs to put some money into the place, it's not worth the money to stay here.
And that was only:
$69.00 / night for the two of us, 1 queen, before tax

My Bad News is Your Good News

I have stayed in many budget motels and I am well aware of what to expect, and for $60 plus tax for one person this is what I got:

Very friendly owner who has the various prices taped to the counter so you know he is not making prices up as he goes.
Huge parking area so that is not a problem for anyone.
Clean room with brand new low pile carpet.
Three locks on the door to choose from.
Working TV with many channels.
Clean beds and clean bathroom. Yes the bathroom was pickle green like grandmas but was very clean and the shower worked well, and I personally enjoy old charm as opposed to staying in everything needing to be renovated for no reason really - Canada is too addicted to tearing stuff down once the new style trend fades, but that's another topic altogether in keeping up with the Joneses.

Only negative is that i never got my wake-up call as I found later the phone not even plugged in(nor was the fridge but your not burning power with the phone unplugged).

Comfortable quiet stay, I would recommend.

Clean, good price!

Was a great  night  sleep. The door handle was iffy but figured  it out. Internet was also iffy but kinda worked. Wake up call was half hour late but I can understand  it was a 530 am is early. But thank you it was a good sleep  very nice man, very friendly  service. Thank you.
