Mixed experience here with positives like condition, freshness, cleanliness, good hot water pressure. It's close to shops for supplies, BWS, fish and chips, groceries. Be aware that these shops close at 7  on the dot! It's a drive to popular beaches. There are several negatives to note and it's the minimal equipment in 'kitchen' (Aussie standard), not enough linen for two, tiny bathroom, and the little flimsy coffee table was not useful for anything and should be  replaced with a real table. 

Ok, but ...

We had a great stay here. There are obviously a lot of renovations going on and our room had quite a bit of surface damage in need of repair. However it was spotless, with beautiful bed linen and fluffy white towels and a very comfortable bed. We are unlikely to return to Sanctuary Point, but if we did I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Greatly improved compared to other's reviews

Stayed in the motel in their 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights with a friend as we were attending a wedding at a local farm venue. 
The room was very grubby.  The carpet was old and badly stained in places. Paintwork chipped and the walls had dirty blackmarks on them. 
One of the “bleather “ black lounges was pealing where you sat. We had to sit on a towel so the pieces did not stick to us. “Yuk” 
The fridge froze all our food as it was on the wrong temperature setting. 
We booked the apartment so we could use the kitchen however there was no washing up liquid, sponge or even a tea towel provided. 
To enter the shower you had to step over a knee high hub into a very small shower area which was quite slippery. The sliding door was broken and stuck. I had to step inside side ways into the shower. On the plus side once you got in,  the shower had good water pressure. Don’t know how tall or larger  people would get into the shower. 
The floor of bathroom had a slimy feeling and we had to open every window in the apartment to get rid of the overall bleach smell. 
I must add that the linen on the beds and the towels were pristine. 
We were very dissapointed as it is in an excellent position. Close to the club,shops and very close to two beautiful wedding  venues.
If it was overhauled it could be prompted as accomodation for guests of these venues. As it stands now I would not recommend to anyone at the moment due to its run down state.

Run down and Grubby

We paid $260 a night 25 - 27 February 2022 for an unclean motel room notably the floor was dirty and damp turning our white socks black each day, the section between the fridge and freezer was mouldy making all my groceries and drink bottles reek of mould and to be thrown out! The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the side table was disgusting.. and to think my head had to sleep next to that for two nights. I reached out to the motel during my stay once and after my stay twice about the above issues I experienced and I am still yet to receive a response.. nearly a week on. So I decided it was time to leave a review. Is basic cleanliness and hygiene too much to ask for? especially when you are paying $260 per night! I would strongly recommend you do not stay here, no matter the price or how desperate for accommodation you are. I have now seen many other bad reviews and wish I had seen them before. Clearly this business does not follow up or look into the issues raised.

Overpriced and dirty! Worst accommodation I have ever stayed in!

Stayed 25 and 26 February 2022.  On arrival half eaten pizza in fridge and showing mould.  Container of raw chicken in fridge also mouldy.  Shower in bathroom constantly dripped to the extent the bathroom floor was always wet.  No one at the front desk at anytime.  It seemed the place had not been properly cleaned for a long time.
It was the only accommodation available at the time but would look further afield next time.  Recommendation is to AVOID.

A place to miss

My husband and I called this the crime scene room. It’s so run down and dirty. Such a disappointment. Check out my photos for your own opinion. You will see in the photos someone false eyelash, it’s not mine. Just uncleaned in such an important time. Air conditioner had mould growing in it. 
We could only stay for one night out of the two due to feel uncomfortable in the room and unwell family member. Asked for a part refund for the second night and management declined our request. Will not return and I would not recommend it.

Run down, uncleaned and the worst accommodation we have ever stayed it.

This business will not budge on their cancellation policy. I wanted to move the booking back a week and was fine with paying a fee but took full payment of over $1100and refused to return phone calls. 

Do not book

we booked before Covid and gave 6 weeks notice it could proceed, were charged  $410 for two nights and $245 admid fee? although the virus was out of their hands the fact they were closed just after seemed unfair

husbands 60th birthday

In 2021 we had a State Bowling competition at Sanctuary Point, I booked gave my credit card details. It was cancelled due, of course to Covid. I contacted the hotel months prior to our booking and re booked, again it was cancelled by the Bowling Association, so I was forced to cancel, again months before our booking, I made another booking for October but the Association cancelled that as well and months before our planned stay. I informed the motel that the association had to plan the event for 2022 and that I was happy to book with them for then. Never the less through Emails I was told that I would have to forfeit the first night's payment of $265.00. We cannot go there, and I am sure that they don't exactly have people knocking on their door, So I had to cancel and forefeit $265.00. Now common management sense would say "Accept the 2022 booking worth $1055.00, rather than lose that and get $265 instead". I would have thought that with small businesses doing it tough, especially in times of pandemic, some leniency of the cancellation rules would be considered. It is interesting that the hotel didn't take my deposit the 1st and 2nd time I was force to cancel, just the 3rd time, despite me assuring them I would book in 2022 when the State Bowling Titles were to be scheduled.

Rip Off

No other advice than to READ the cancellation FINE PRINT . We booked 2 nights and secured with credit card. We did not book through another party but directly with property. When COVID 19 reared its head in the area last week with a testing alert due to a Victorian family travelling through the region we made an informed decision to cancel our booking. Our daughter’s family (2 adults, 3 children) are living with us and we didn’t want to find ourselves in a forced isolation when we got home because we visited the area. 
Note: it clearly states in the confirmation email that our credit card was not charged but used to confirm the booking however the full amount was debited 5 days before our booking.
I contacted the property 4 days before our booking to be told that I would forfeit the first nights tariff if I cancelled. The only other option was to rebook immediately with another date—- how the hell do you do that in this unpredictable pandemic climate? They will not credit you towards a future booking so consequently they have effectively ‘stolen’ $120.  We WERE happy to hold the booking in credit until things settled down again.
The south coast area has been devastated by bushfires, floods and the pandemic. They are pleading with people to visit the region and when we tried to do so we are treated like this. When the pressure is on the local area, with regard to health and safety, encouraging ..sorry forcing ...more outsiders into the fray is unnecessary. We tried to alleviate some of this pressure while also keeping our own family safe. 
It is seems these people aren’t particularly concerned about Covid-19 and are particularly short-sighted in regards to future benefits. This was not peak time—- it’s winter! Inflexible, poor management!
We have family and friends living in the Sanctuary Point/Vincentia area and have full intentions of returning to the area but in principle will NOT be booking this establishment
