Had an 80th Birthday Dinner at the Royal last night -  14 Adults, and 3 teen boys
The service was good, a lovely staff member helped with the Birthday cake
All meals came out quickly after ordering, and everyone  enjoyed their meal ( the 3 kids, said they could have eaten more, but  most kids say that, no matter how much is on their plate) No complaints at all -  Great night, had by all

Dinner at the Royal Hotel  Mornington

A bit hesitant after reading some not so great reviews but was very pleasantly surprised. Room is lovely, very spacious, very comfy bed & pillows, lovely bathroom and a spectacular view from the balcony. Dinner was fabulous. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was excellent. Would definitely visit again.

We had a good family event experience in the Victoriana Room on 2 January. We think everyone was happy with both the food and service. The scotch fillet steaks and apple & rhubarb crumble were particularly good.

Good experience

I met some friends here on a nice balmy night and we sat on the verandah and had a great view of the bay. We just had a few drinks and ordered some snacks, some foccacia with olives and a dip and some chips with aioli. It was a lovely night and the food was delicious and the service was friendly. A great place to go for a few drinks and a great view.

We’ve stayed at the Royal previously, but this time our accommodation was in the 3 bedroom apartment.   We knew it didn’t have a view but it was nicely fitted out, with quality toiletries and fittings.   There's a kitchen, 3 bedrooms and a sitting area,  The bathroom includes a full size bath as well as a shower, and a full-size washer/dryer.    There’s a 2nd TV in one of the bedrooms.  The beds were really comfortable.  There’s a very comfortable couch in the lounge area along with a big coffee table, a couple of side tables and a bench with stools, but no dining table as such.    The wi fi was fine.

It’s on the 1st floor, so access is by the stairs which are quite steep, so you might like to bear this in mind if stairs are an issue.   The pub downstairs has music during the evening, so there’s a little noise from this until about 10 pm.

We were there in mid-summer, so it certainly wasn't cheap, but Mornington and the Peninsula have a lot to offer and we had a good time.
