Excellent, well appointed and conveniently located apartments just minutes from Parliament House and Manuka Shops.  The accommodation was roomy, light and airy, the bed comfortable and the shower hot.  Undercover, secure car parking underneath the building was accessed either by the elevator or down a short flight of stairs.  Overall this property scores a ten out of ten for me.

Comfortable home away from home in Canberra

We very much enjoyed our stay at Kingston Court apartments. We stayed in Apartment 16 which is a ground floor apartment. I think there aren't many reviews on here for these apartments as they available for holiday rental or longer term rental, and this one has been on a long lease. Don't let the lack of reviews put you off! The apartment is administered by 'Accommodate Canberra' and the staff are extremely helpful and can send you a link with the exact apartment details if required.

The location is EXCELLENT. 100m to the main Kingston area, which includes an IGA, bakery, pharmacy, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Park (including playground) at the other end of the road. Also easy walk to Manuka and Kingston Foreshore/Bus Depot markets. The apartment complex is mainly residential and was very quiet during our stay. No road noise.

The apartment is well-appointed, including a very well-equipped, modern kitchen. Can be made up as a Queen and a King or a Queen and 2 x single beds. Plenty of cupboard space. All appliance and cleaning items supplied (including vacuum). A generous starter pack (tea, coffee, dishwashing equipment) was supplied. Apartment was very clean.

Reverse cycle aircon in living room only. Oil heaters provided for bedrooms and a strip heater in the bathroom. I'm not sure how well these would combat the temperature in the middle of winter -  we only needed them for one night of our visit. Plenty of extra blankets and doonas supplied.

A few minor maintenance issues during our visit. We didn't ask for them to be fixed during our stay, but the staff were receptive of the feedback.

A well-apointed apartment in an excellent location

Unit 21 was on the third floor and no lift.  Taking luggage up was difficult.  The apartment was quite comfortable with good beds.  Electric blankets on the beds would be good with Canberra winters.   The only other complaint was the lounge room furniture was inadequate.  A bigger lounge suite would be a big plus.

Great locatiom

On arrival the receptionist on check in looked like I had inconvenienced her by asking to check in. There was no customer service smile, or have a nice day. When we called from the room to ask about wifi the receptionist told us to come to the desk and hung up on my husband abruptly and rudely.

There is wifi in the complex but it is from an outside company that you will pay  $100 for basically 6 hours. There is horrible cell reception and basic TV channels. 

It is close to the shops which are in walking distance. The apartment was larger than a hotel room, with all basic amenities that you could use. Wasn't spotless and like others said dated.

Bigger than a hotel room

Location was perfect for our needs - a girl's w/end get together within walking distance of  some good cafes, restaurants, a day spa & the lake....all ticked! There's also a well stocked IGA supermarket & 2 bottle shops nearby & "up market"  Manuka is an easy 10 minute stroll.  

If you're not after the latest & greatest in fittings & furniture & 21st century technology isn't a huge priority, the units are certainly clean, serviceable & spacious enough. A small but well equipped kitchen houses a dishwasher, full sized fridge, microwave & stove, plenty of pots & pans, a sandwich maker & all the usual suspects.

The bathroom was by no means modern but did have a decent shower with plenty of hot water and a small strip heater. 

Both bedrooms contained extra blankets & pillows, a generous amount of wardrobe storage & (upon request) portable fan heaters - our unit only had a small split system in the living room.

Sadly the lounge furniture was really very uncomfortable and dated back to the 80's. So too the 4 seater dining suite. There's a small flat screen TV (too small for the room) & dvd player, but no movies. There's also no wifi in the building at all.
   
The main issue preventing a return visit would be cost - at $240 a night in the midst of winter the apartments are well over priced for an aged facility offering limited resources. I'm sure there's better value out there.

The only other feedback I'd like to offer relates to our check in / departure experience. Why do people in occupations demanding a respectable level of civility & customer service so often seem un-suited to their roles??? The frosty & unfriendly reception at check in on Fri was just unnecessary & unprofessional. To top it off we organised a late check out of 11am for yesterday (which seemed ever so much to ask for) and this obviously wasn't communicated to the equally unhappy woman who looked after our departure!
