I have stayed in this hotel twice for 7-9 days each time. I have been in Buenos Aires many times and after I found this hotel, I think it is one the best for the price. The rooms are very clean and quieter ones are available in the back of the hotel. And a standard Argentinian breakfast with medilunas, coffee, etc is served so not much but OK to begin the day with. The staff is very friendly and accomodating to what you need. I am returning to Buenos Aires next year and will go to Mari Plaza again. Nothing fancy but I would recommend it highly. Very secure!!

Very clean and good location

The place is fine en general. It location is good, near of subway line. The room was a few poor of maintenance, but comfortable. The bed was fine. The bathroom is fine too. I sleep well. 
Remember that it's a cheap place (3 start or less) so, If you are looking for a cheap place and you don't have too many expectations and you will not spend a lot of time in the room, this is your place.

A good place

We stayed at this hotel partly because to was the last scheduled stop on an organised tour but also because we wanted to add a couple of extra days in Buenos Aires and moving hotels was an unnecessary hassle.  Mari Plaza is a budget hotel within easy walking distance to the Plaza Congreso (nearest stop for the hop off/on tour bus) and one block off the nearest Subte (Underground/Subway station).  There were some excellent restaurants near by. Rooms were very clean and roomy and although we had a room on the front of the hotel it was not particularly noisy, pity it didn't have a fridge.  The Reception was very helpful with info and access to the hotel safe (none in the rooms) although we were told that rooms next to the lift were noisy.  Breakfast (included) was simple but filling.  The hotel has free wifi but reception was poor unless you went up to the top floor next to the breakfast room. Only gripe (not a big one) was that the hotel has no common meeting areas so if you want to meet up with others it has to be in the rather cramped reception area.

Clean budget hotel with helpful staff

I just came back from staying 4 nights at this property.
What a great surprise, a friend of mine recommended me this hotel. It is a budget hotel, very basic but charming and also extremely clean, I have to say it was above my expectations, for the price you get an excellent location close to the famous Florida street by subway and walking distance to the Obelisk ,the staff was kind and helpful, unusual for Argentinian hotels.
Graciela at the reception was very helpful and professional always with a smile on her face, Mercedes who serves the continental breakfast was very kind and made us feel at home.
The rooms are spacious and the sheets were very clean, the bathroom was a little bit too small, the shower has no curtains which makes the bathroom floor so wet that  you have two options to dry it, or take the risk to slip and fall.
They also give you the option to look at some restaurant menus close to the hotel that will deliver to the food if requested.  Beautiful historical  building very charming and the beds were decently comfortable.
A very unusual thing is that they only accept cash and we weren't told this at the time we made the reservation by e-mail. 
The prices on their website are in Argentinian pesos not in US dollars our room was the $130 Argentinian pesos which will be around USD$40.

Charming, clean, excellent service, great budget Hotel

We arrived late to Buenos Aires and had to find accommodation close to the Buquebus terminal for an early departure.

The Mari Plaza Hotel is located in an older building where the services are... from the same century as the building - even the greeting is ok the accommodation is... very spartan.

The wifi is very weak; the bathroom is... let's say that it's needed a few rounds of Tetris in order to use the it but what makes me NOT want to go back is the fact that it's NOT CLEAN! 

All over the floor we could find long hair and both of us have a boot cut. However; if you're not worried about the cleanliness then this hotel is ok for you!
