Location away from the sapa square is about 7mins walk. There are few shops along the street as well if you need to dine in. The staff were helpful and fluent in English. I believe all the rooms are facing the mountain so you are able to look at the scenic view of the mountain (only if it is not misty). The room is clean and big. However, you may get woke up in the middle of the night, by the noise from the birds, cat and the cock outside the hotel. Unless you are deep sleeper, i think you would have to bear with it throughout the night. Not a big deal for me though.

Location is great, staff are helpful

I love this hotel view . Room is not big enough but the staff is nice. If you want to experience Love market of Sapa, just stay here, this hotel is in the center of the town. Some time you will be uncomfortable with some kids who keep folloing you to sell something

Clean and nice place

Plus points include perfect location and abundant hot water for shower (it was only 6 celcius degree when we were there). But room facilities and service quality are really big minuses. Power sockets were not working in my room (and neither in my colleagues' rooms). The room smelt. Bathroom facilities were very old and did not look very clean. The food was average. We checked in late on a very misty, rainy day (you could hardly see things about 10 meters away) and were not sure where our rooms were (rooms are in different buildings and you have to walk outdoors  - which is actually a very nice thing to do on a sunny day, but not a rainy one). We asked the staff to take us to our rooms because we could not see any thing through the mist but they refused.

Good location but poor room facilities and service quality

Most importantly, don't waste your money and vacation time staying at this hotel.

We were a group of 6 adults from the USA traveling around Vietnam, and this hotel was recommended by our Vietnamese travel agent because it is a good location and has excellent views of the mountains.  They told us this was an exclusive hotel for government people and we were getting to stay there because we were family of a government employee- so of course we expected it to be a great place to stay.  But when we arrived we were so horrified by the hotel conditions that we forfeited what we paid to the travel agency for the hotel and the meal, and found another hotel on our own. 

Our first impression of the hotel was the lobby, the paint on the walls was peeling, there were water stains on the ceiling, the furniture was from the 1980's, it was dirty, and the lobby bathrooms smelled terribly.  We were so worried about the conditions that we asked to see a room before we checked in.  The rooms weren't as bad as the lobby, but they were perhaps 1 or 2 star quality.  The carpet and linens in the guest rooms was old and ragged, they were clean but smelled of bleach, and the air was very musty in the rooms.  

We couldn't imagine feeling at all comfortable there, but we decided to think about it over lunch.   The travel agency had arranged a lunch for us at the hotel, so we walked to the building next door where the restaurant is.  What we found was a huge meal that had been cooked hours ago and was sitting on the table for a long time waiting for us.  It could be because we were late checking in (it takes a long time to drive to Sapa), but they should not have cooked the food before we arrived and let it sit out in the open.  

We were so uncomfortable with the state of the hotel and the restaurant, feeling like we might get sick if we ate there, that we decided to give up our prepayment and find another place to eat and another hotel to stay in.  That was definitely the best decision and we were very happy with our other hotel in Sapa.

Don't waste your vacation

I spent 1 night at family room (1 single bed and 2 twin beds) on 9 Aug. The hotel was so old (both meaning and from inside & outside) with the smell of the old furniture, atmosphere. It brought the feeling of being cold, wet, scary. The bed were full of bug-dead bodies due to the bug spray. The wall painting was almost fell out. The hotel should be replaced asap.
