We had the pleasure of staying at Mosaico for a week over the New Year's break with my extended family (11 members), and have nothing but praise to say. It is a gorgeous, extremely comfortable house overlooking a large pond, with a tenis court, swimming pool and as much space as anyone needs to relax and enjoy quality time with loved ones. If you like cooking, you'll find a great kitchen and bbq with wood supplied every day by the incredibly helpful host, Marcos. It is a wild and remote as we were looking to be, yet 15 minutes away from Jose Ignacio and the beach. Service was spotless and communication with the owners seamless. Swimming in the pond every morning, tennis in the afternoons, family lunches and great dinners...we left with a big smile on our faces. Recommended!

A wonderful home for a family vacation

First and foremost, let me say that if you are looking for the Punta or Jose Ignacio "vibe", you probably won't want to stay here at Mosaico. It is well removed from both, smack in the middle between JI and Garzon. 
We traveled in a group of 10 family members, from age 11 to age 77, and stayed at the larger home with 5 en suites. Upon arrival, there were some minor glitches we noticed: A/C not working in one of the rooms, shower head broken in another, etc. Marcos was able to address these issues in a timely manner, but I felt like with a bit more attention to detail, and perhaps some small financial investments, this could easily be a 5-star property. The kitchen is really quite limited, with even basic utensils missing. For instance, tongs for the barbecue and a sharp knife to cut meat. Neither were available. A lot of the items in the house just seem a bit "tired". 
The pool and tennis court areas are fine, we used them both a fair amount. The barbecue again seems a bit tired, with only the bare minimum of utensils provided, making for a difficult effort when grilling outdoors. 
Several tips:
1. Hit the supermarket in JI (Devoto) or better yet in Barra (Tienda Ingles), there is only a very small store down the road from Mosaico. 
2. Buy bug spray, you are out in the campo here, lots of critters!
3. Plan ahead when you want to go into town, a round trip to the closest place, Jose Ignancio, can take an hour. 
4. I didn't actually go into the "lake house", with 4 en suites, but it seems a bit more modern and newer in terms of the offerings. 
Marcos is a very attentive manager of this property. Without him, things could have been much more inconvenient. His adorable pup Indio is a treasure as well! 
All in all, I will sum up by saying that we had a satisfactory 9 days here at Mosaico. 
With a bit more attention to detail and some investments in the property, there is no reason this couldn't be a top notch family destination...

Needs a bit of upkeep...

It is by far the best rental home I've been to in Uruguay - spacious, clean and bright, great outdoors and fireplace, with a very attentive and helpful administrator, Marcos. We've rented both their homes and happy with both our experiences. The walks, horses, tennis courts - everything was lovely. When it was raining we enjoyed the fireplace and boardgames provided. We had about six little ones under 6 years of age and they had plenty of space to run and enjoy the sun and the views. Marcos regularly kept in touch and replenishing our wood, as well as organizing walks with the horses. We can't wait to go back!
A few tips for new visitors: there's no wifi for both homes; or a fence around the pools. Be watchful for the kids! Cooking utensils are limited to tongs etc. for BBQ - so do take your own serving spoons for rice, soups, etc. In the 5-bedroom home, there's a medium-sized fridge in the kitchen - we ended up using mini-bar fridges to store milk etc. in our rooms. In the 4-bedroom home, there are no mini-bars in the rooms but one small mini-bar fridge in the kitchen, along with a medium sized regular fridge. Do take your own dish-washing liquid for things you can't put in the dishwasher.

Great for friends & family

There are a lot of possitive things at Posada Mosaico:
- Very nice house with great view of small lake and fields
- parrila and kitchen aparels
- lot of space in the leaving rooms and bedrooms
- quality of the beds and bathrooms
- swiming pool is ok but would be perfect if it was heated. We had a poor weather and could not enjoy it properly during the stay.
- internet and wifi perfect
- Marco help a lot with hints of the area and also at the house

Nice stay at Mosaico

Being a group of 14 it was quite challenging to find a place that would not only lodge everybody with great comfort, but that would also have enough common space for us to enjoy a quiet New Year's celebration.
Posada Mosaico exceeded our expectations, providing really outstanding accommodation in a beautiful environment. We could enjoy the many activities: kayaking, fishing, horse riding and barbecuing every single night and, as we had some rainy days, staying in was really nice as well.
Staff is super friendly and beyond helpful. Specially Marcos was really responsive and accommodating since the very first interaction.
I highly recommend Posada Mosaico for your stay! Enjoy!!

Great stay! All you need (and more) to spend a memorable time with family and friends :)

We had an excellent stay in Posada Mosaico. We could enjoy the nature but also the lake, kayack and swimming pool!
We also enjoyed very good asado, lunch and breakfast!
I recommend this place if you want to relax and be in the middle of nature with friends.

The perfect place to relax and enjoy the charm of nature. The service was excellent. We were offered a menu of activities which were set in the middle of this magical place. Highly recommendable to visit either with friends or in couple.

Great service, excellent accommodations. Marcos was very helpful and kind to us. We have a great time playing tennis, kayaking and riding on horse . Excellent place to visit with friends and family. Beautiful views and very peaceful.
