Villa Marina

From the moment you pull up to the beautifully appointed Villa Marina B&B you know you’ve struck gold and not the 3 lemons you sometimes get when booking a stay online. Off road courtyard parking leads to a really well maintained and well stocked garden with zoned areas for entertaining and eating and lounging that were available for use and a real bonus with the scorchio weather we lucked into. Entering the house itself, cool mosaic tiling leads you into the central and dining areas. I don’t know what scent is used but it was gorgeous, smelling of cinnamon (Vince, Erwan, what is that smell it’s great!). The rooms are even lovelier in person that the photos show. High ceilings, intricate coving, super comfortable bed and top drawer bedding equals one of the most comfortable nights I’ve ever had outside of my own bed. The attention to detail and the extras provided went well beyond my expectations and included some freshly made lemon drizzle cake and ‘seagull silencers’ of all things haha. Dogs are not just welcomed but embraced. Vince and Erwan are definitely dog people and perhaps the spotlessness of the B&B is even more remarkable because of this. I’m quite fussy about cleanliness but I couldn’t fault the place. So, I’ve sang the praises of the bed but what about the breakfast. One hyphenated word: IN-CRED-IBLE. I think this is the best breakfast I’ve ever had away from home. Whether you choose the traditional or smoked salmon with egg (scrambled for me) on toast or any other of the 101 variants on offer you will not be disappointed.
