We stayed in room no 4 in an outhouse separate to the pub/hotel. We wouldn’t return due to the infestation of black mould in the bathroom (which they’ve badly tried to paint over numerous times, by the looks of the walls/ceilings) 
The bathroom layout is such that you can’t sit on the toilet without burning your legs of the towel rail, so I guess lots of people like us, turn the towel rail off and put up with the freezing cold mouldy bathroom and sit sideways on the toilet and therefore the toilet  seat is broken.
 
The bedroom is incredibly dark, with only one spotlight in the ceiling and lamps (too dark to do make up in) the dressing table has plugs that can’t used due to wood just below, meaning you can’t push plugs in. The bed was comfortable, bedding summer weight so cold added to the fact, that if your a light sleeper, you’ll need to turn the radiators off, as you can hear running water in the system when there on. Rooms are very stylish looking, just lack the basics you get from a premier inn/ travelodge of peaceful, warmth and cleanliness

Really disappointing.
The Wi-Fii took absolute age to connect and despite being in a queue, the bar staff closed the bar prompt on 11pm, despite being hotel residents.
It is such a shame that the overall experience is dissolved by so few as most of the staff are friendly and helpful but the bar staff lack the same customer service levels as they do to dental hygiene!

Disappointing Experience

Well what can I say but Fantastic ! 
Stayed here for one night at the best price I’ve ever stayed anywhere I would of paid more . 
The room was lovely and homely , fantastic shower, was nice and warm in the room when we arrived, plenty of towels and little extras in there if I had to criticise anything it was the lighting in there was quite dimly lit and the light above the bathroom mirror didn’t work for me to put my make up on but a quick fix . Breakfast in the morning was really nice, good quality produce and plenty of it . Good selection on the breakfast menu too. Staff were really helpful and friendly . The lady behind the bar think she may be the manager was polite and very helpful when I asked for an iron she brought it up to my room . We had a few starters in the pub before we were due to go out in the evening which were well presented and very tasty would  definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic place

Acceptable for 1 might just about. No cold water from the taps. One tap was giving warm water the other tap boiling hot. Didn’t sleep very well cold in the room with just one thin duvet and no extra blanket. Waited 25 mins for breakfast, friends waited 40 minutes and gave up and cancelled the order and left hungry. A lot of potential but don’t seem able to take advantage of it.

Not very good experience

Checked into a room untouched since precious occupant vacated it. Last thing needed after 330 mile journey. Corridor to room had filthy carpet and damp issue. Trying to mask this with enhanced fragrance doesn’t work. 

Manager spent most of time trying to get rid of us to another hotel (we ended up booking our own) and telling us how much he was going to berate housekeeping. He could easily have remedied all this by asking if we wanted drinks and dinner (we did) while he got room sorted. 

As we were leaving, he appeared to have gotten someone to clean the room but, he never told us he was trying, in between calling other places so we had to decline as had booked another hotel on non-refundable basis. 

Manager who called next day to expedite refund was lovely. Chap on Friday could learn a lot from her attitude to customer care

Fawlty Towers would be preferable. At least it might be clean

We were recommended to stay at The Bulls Head in Meridan by a friend & we were glad we did.  The pub was a lovely old coaching inn.  We had a great overnight stay in a lovely room. All the staff were lovely, friendly & very helpful.  The evening meal & breakfast were really good.  We would definitely stay there again if in that area.

Weekend away

Nice quiet hotel. The staff were warm & friendly. The room was different but cosy. The bar area was warm & cosy. After a good night’s sleep we went for breakfast. Have to give a big hand to the chef. The food was cooked absolutely perfect.

Innkeepers Inn Quiet Break

The location is great, lovely quiet village and close proximity to the NEC. Upon arrival good first impression big car park, lovely courtyard and nice restaurant. To check in you have to walk through the restaurant which is a little awkward but we were checked in quickly and necessary information explained. We were put in room 1, upon entering we were met with a decent size room, nice decor and a sufficient enough room to stay in after a concert we were attending at the NEC. However, the cleanliness was very poor and some fixtures broken, it seemed that the only house keeping that had been done since the previous guests was the sheets being changed and the towels replaced, the floor looked/felt dirty. It definitely had not been hoovered or moped, the bathroom 10000% hadn’t been cleaned as the previous guests razor was still in the shower and the toilet pan was dirty. The shower didn’t drain properly so after 2 minutes the water is flowing out onto the floor, there was mould in the bathroom and the bathroom tap constantly trickles which is something someone else had wrote about this exact room back in October 2022 so these things obviously still haven’t been addressed. The room was fairly cold too. We didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on the food/service. If the issues mentioned were fixed and more attention was given to proper cleanliness this would be a brilliant place to stay.

Massive potential but let down by basic things

We’ve  eaten several times at the Bull and always had a pleasant experience. We decided to book a room here for Valentines night & eat in the bar. At £80 per night it was on par with similar places we’d stayed so overall value for money. 

Me and my partner are just under and over 6 foot tall, so we found the low beams in the bedroom very hazardous  We both cracked our heads a couple of times, and particularly on the very awkward low beam situated right above the toilet which at night time was fun to say the least!

The room itself was tastefully decorated, and I found the bed very comfortable. However, the shower was broken and the kettle was faulty, meaning it didn’t switch off which was dangerous. 

Due to the low beams and design of the rooms, unfortunately we stay here again  but will visit to eat.

Don’t stay if you’re over 5.5 foot tall!

Chose a hotel with bar so I could have a drink when I arrived - bar closed early (last orders apparently called at 10.30pm, despite letter saying bar closes at 11pm, refused service at 10.45pm), nasty mouldy smells in corridor leading to room and complimentary drink declined (letter in room promising complimentary orange juice, tea and coffee at bar on request). Middle of nowhere so I couldn't even nip out to buy a few beers... Might as well have gone to a Travelodge...
